"Quaint" is the best word to describe this Inn. While it has potential, the building is old and in need of some TLC. I can only speak for our room. The tub was heavily stained....hoping it was from minerals in water, none the less....if it can't be cleaned, it needs to be replaced. Also, broken floor tiles in bathroom, some... More

Recently used the Inn as our base for three days of bicycle riding. The staff was terrific, very accommodating, and really went above and beyond to make me and my large group of friends welcome and comfortable. We took over the front porch and several delicious meals there. The rooms are comfortable. The town is quiet and picturesque. Overall, a... More

I recently spend four nights at the Saxtons River Inn with a large group of friends. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were courteous and accommodating. Each day we traveled on a variety of bike routes from 35-65 miles from the Inn as a home base taking in covered bridges, river gorges, and breathtaking scenery. The Inn breakfast... More

The food was very good, the room was clean and spacious but most of all, we loved our time at the Saxton River Inn because we felt so comfortable. The staff went way out of ther way to make us feel at home. It felt like we were visiting family friends. I would strongly reccomend a long weekend or longer... More

Great dinner. Good food and great service. The live music was wonderful. The new management has done a great job keeping the charm. Well worth a visit. Take the time to visit the charming town and back roads to get there. Cheers

• The Inn at Saxtons River has always been a special place for my wife and myself. We have visited the inn at least four times prior. The first time was years ago when Jeremy was our host and we had a wonderful and romantic time. He was charming and made our stay memorable. Since that point, we returned but... More

First of all, there's nowhere fancy to stay in or near Saxtons River. Within half an hour, there are a couple of places you could stay that have a spa, massages, and so on. If that's what you're looking for, this is not your place. On the outside, the building looks ramshackle and poorly cared for; the paint is peeling... More

My partner and I stayed there this weekend for our one year anniversary. We got in on Friday around 9 pm and where warmly greeted by Sarah the owner of the Inn, right off the bat she asked us if we were hungry or needed anything to drink as the restaurant was closing. Her consideration for the guests is second... More

We held a wedding here for our daughter during the "leaf peeping" season. Our guests took over all the rooms at the Inn. The staff did an amazing job helping us prepare for the reception. The food was delicious, the service outstanding, and the dining area and outdoor tent looked beautiful. Yes, this is an old Vermont inn, and some... More

Looking to find place to celebrate his 70th ,my husband decided we should travel to Saxtons River Inn. Innkeeper welcomed us with warmth only found in small country towns. Next morning we enjoyed 'perfect coffee' on porch with muffins - fresh out of oven. Watching hummingbird flit in & out of petunias hanging on porch reminded me of Innkeeper at... More
