Great dinner. Good food and great service. The live music was wonderful. The new management has done a great job keeping the charm. Well worth a visit. Take the time to visit the charming town and back roads to get there. Cheers

• The Inn at Saxtons River has always been a special place for my wife and myself. We have visited the inn at least four times prior. The first time was years ago when Jeremy was our host and we had a wonderful and romantic time. He was charming and made our stay memorable. Since that point, we returned but... More

First of all, there's nowhere fancy to stay in or near Saxtons River. Within half an hour, there are a couple of places you could stay that have a spa, massages, and so on. If that's what you're looking for, this is not your place. On the outside, the building looks ramshackle and poorly cared for; the paint is peeling... More

My partner and I stayed there this weekend for our one year anniversary. We got in on Friday around 9 pm and where warmly greeted by Sarah the owner of the Inn, right off the bat she asked us if we were hungry or needed anything to drink as the restaurant was closing. Her consideration for the guests is second... More

We held a wedding here for our daughter during the "leaf peeping" season. Our guests took over all the rooms at the Inn. The staff did an amazing job helping us prepare for the reception. The food was delicious, the service outstanding, and the dining area and outdoor tent looked beautiful. Yes, this is an old Vermont inn, and some... More

Looking to find place to celebrate his 70th ,my husband decided we should travel to Saxtons River Inn. Innkeeper welcomed us with warmth only found in small country towns. Next morning we enjoyed 'perfect coffee' on porch with muffins - fresh out of oven. Watching hummingbird flit in & out of petunias hanging on porch reminded me of Innkeeper at... More

This place has plenty of character and a cozy feel to it, but the whole place is run down and the rooms are "rustic," to put it nicely: Missing lightbulbs, creaky beds, noisy A/Cs that almost fall out the window, drawers that can't be closed or opened... Our room windows opened up to somebody else's balcony -- weird. No fridges,... More

As some previous reviewers noted the Inn has seen better days. It could use a once-over in terms of refurbishing. But why get bent out of shape because the window sashes are shot or the rugs are a little worn. A wood-jam keeps the windows open fine and our dog did not mind sleeping on the rug one bit.. The... Just atrocious...that's al I can write about the condition of the room we reserved. No wonder this place was the only one who had a vacancy, during the peek of leaf peeping season. Neither of us wanted to lay our heads down on those pillows....staff was understanding and friendly.

The inn is right near friends that we visit often. We have stayed there two times for that reason. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, however the rooms need a lot of attention. I understand that the inn is old, but the carpet doesn't have to be dirty and stained. The bathroom could use some updating, especially the shower.... More
