I like the place but it is old and not super well maintain. Feels like you are in a movie. It is cute but not a Romantic getaway. The staff and their restaurant in very good. If you are in the are it is a great place to stay.

This is a "historic" hotel that is old and it shows. If you like this kind of place, this is for you. But I think it was pretty overpriced. The "breakfast" was just a box of cereal... The bed in my room didn't even have a headboard. For $149 plus tax this was waaaaay overpriced. Otherwise, the room was clean,... More

Friends of mine were getting married in nearby Grafton and all of the lodging in the area was booked up by the wedding guests. We were very lucky and got a room at Saxton's River Inn! It was the quintessential, charming New England Inn and the village was gorgeous and quaint. The owner / innkeeper, Sarah, was a perfect hostess... More

The Saxton's River Inn is a delight. It is very old and historic but the rooms are large and well appointed. The owner lives in the building and makes herself available for a questions or concerns that arise. The chef John does an amazing job each night for dinner. Saxton's River is a very little town but it has a... More

The Saxtons River Inn is a quaint and charming country inn. When you stay there you feel like you are staying with an old friend. I have visited the inn twice this year. Once in January and again last week. The changes I have seen in just a few short months are amazing. Sarah, the inn keeper, is clearly the... More

We stayed at the Saxton's River Inn for two nights as we were in town for a wedding. Let me begin by saying that do not expect this to have all the bells and whistles of a fine chain hotel. In fact, do not expect everything to even work or to be up to standards that you may expect. Instead... More

"Quaint" is the best word to describe this Inn. While it has potential, the building is old and in need of some TLC. I can only speak for our room. The tub was heavily stained....hoping it was from minerals in water, none the less....if it can't be cleaned, it needs to be replaced. Also, broken floor tiles in bathroom, some... More

Recently used the Inn as our base for three days of bicycle riding. The staff was terrific, very accommodating, and really went above and beyond to make me and my large group of friends welcome and comfortable. We took over the front porch and several delicious meals there. The rooms are comfortable. The town is quiet and picturesque. Overall, a... More

I recently spend four nights at the Saxtons River Inn with a large group of friends. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were courteous and accommodating. Each day we traveled on a variety of bike routes from 35-65 miles from the Inn as a home base taking in covered bridges, river gorges, and breathtaking scenery. The Inn breakfast... More

The food was very good, the room was clean and spacious but most of all, we loved our time at the Saxton River Inn because we felt so comfortable. The staff went way out of ther way to make us feel at home. It felt like we were visiting family friends. I would strongly reccomend a long weekend or longer... More
