My wife and I stayed in room 630. We picked the place for its closeness to Killington Ski area, which is about a 15 min drive to Ramshed lift. It is even closer to Pico Ski area. The king bed was comfy and the linens were plush and clean. this place has outside ski lockers for each room. The Hotel... More

We stayed at this hotel between Christmas and New Year while skiing in Killington. Its location is the big plus. It is a very short ride to Killington (and even shorter to Pico) and there are many dining options around. However we found the standard room with 2 double beds too small for a family of 4 (comparing it with... More

Thank you so much for the review. I agree with you that the standard rooms are a bit small for a family of 4 - especially with 2 children and all the baggage. I strongly suggest reserving our 1-bedroom suite for your next visit. It is definately worth the money and the peace of mind! See you soon. Coleen Lio,... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights while spending the weekend skiing at Killington. It's about a 15 minute drive from the ski resort. The wood fireplace near the check-in desk looked very inviting! And, while we didn't eat the complementary breakfast, it smelled good and looked popular. We stayed in a room on the second... More

Nice clean room, great make your own waffles at breakfast buffet. A little pricey at 150$ a night but worth it. Only (minor) complaint is some noise from heating system, though this is very common. Well outside of downtown Rutland, where there have apparently been a lot of ski thefts, heard one account of a bus broken into and skiis... More

This is our second trip to Vermont to visit Castleton for a college visit and decided to stay here. The rate was reasonable enough and we figured we would try out a different hotel than last time. They were busy because it had snowed all day and the skiers we out in full force. The room was nice and it... More

The rooms are in lodges set back from the road so it is very quiet. Not sure if the walls are thin or our neighbours were noisy but we had some noise from next door. The breakfast choice was good. The one thing which would make this motel excellent would be the addition of an indoor pool and hot tub... More

I agree with you and fight every year to have an indoor pool built - it's just not in the plan for the hotel. However, our outdoor heated, salt-water pool is the BEST pool in the summer time that this area has to offer. Be sure to plan a trip back in the summer to take advantage of it. Thanks... More

A veru nice, clean, attractive motel. I have no problems with it except the address "1 US Route 4 Rutland" won't work in my GPS. It was a mile or so east of Rte 7 on Rte 4, not close to Rte 7 as the "1": would imply. I found it as I was just about to give up. Nice... More

I understand your frustration when entering our mailing address in your GPS. We advise all callers inquiring about our address to use our 911 physical address - 5 Best Western Place - which will bring you right to our front door. We are in the process of getting our mailing address changed over to this - but understand that this... More

My wife and I stayed at this Best Western for one night while traveling through Vermont on our yearly mini-Fall getaway. The motel is located on Rt 4 just a mile or two outside the main part of Rutland but I have to say this is a motel with good bang for your buck. We had stayed there for 2... More

Really great except for two design issues: shoot the architect! 1: There is a window above the headboard of the king bed. The cutain, which is supposed to darken the room, hangs about 6" away from the wall. There is a light that burns all night light just outside this window and this light shines on the faces of both...
