We stayed one night in transit to Burlington. The house is victorian i.e. old with furnishings to match but it was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was ample and the service was good. As we arrived in the Rutland area and the address of the Inn drew near, we grimly noticed that the Inn's area is not of a bucolic, New England setting, but more of a commercial strip of fast food restaurants and gas stations in a highly depressed area. Our recent trip to Vermont was our first, and certainly won't be our last!! The Inn at Rutland was an excellent choice.
