Spent just one night here with the intention of doing a little road biking (which we did with the help of Arnie the innkeeper's excellent cue sheets). Very nice inn, extremely clean and tastefully furnished (historic 1810 building, but warm and comfortable, doesn't feel like a museum). Innkeepers Diane and Arnie are available, very helpful, friendly, and easy-going, but respectful... more

We just returned home from a wonderful stay at Ranney-Crawford house with Arnie and Diane. We were visiting Landmark College for an open house with our sons. The Inn is only 4 and 1/2 miles from the campus. Their home is on a beautiful tree lined road in the Vermont country side. Arnie and Diane were wonderful hosts. They gave... more

We just got back from a most wonderful stay at this lovely Vermont B&B. Located on a quiet, country road, the house was charming yet with modern amenities - tons of hot water, big screen TV in the cozy den, comfy beds and scrumptious, generous breakfasts served up by the warm, friendly proprietors. By the second day, we felt like... more

My wife and I just spent a beautiful fall weekend in Vermont. This is a wonderful B&B to enjoy the area. It has 4 rooms-2 large rooms each with a very small, private bath in the room and 2 smaller rooms with larger, private baths just outside the room. The living room has a large flat-screen HD TV and is... more

We had an incredible weekend at Ranney-Crawford for the July 4th weekend. I found it online after looking up cycling routes in Vermont and reading these reviews. Arnie and Diane went way above and beyond welcoming us to Putney and their B&B. We had great breakfasts and incredible rides . I needed to do some longer rides and runs to... more

I can vouch for nearly everything mentioned in these reviews--fantastic breakfasts, very precise cue sheets and great recommendations on bike rides, extremely welcoming and friendly and relaxed hosts. The house, which was built in 1810, is beautifully maintained and furnished (with quite a bit of furniture made by Arnie himself). more

My husband and I really enjoyed our 3-night stay at the Ranney-Crawford. Diane and Arnie are wonderful hosts! They really made us feel welcome and like family. Both are terrific cooks and whipped up stupendous breakfasts every morning! Bed was great, everything clean and most comfortable. If you enjoy experiencing a bit of history up close and personal, this place... more

We stayed 2 nights at the Ranney Crawford House. I can't say enough good things about it, the hosts, the breakfasts, the rooms and to top it off- they have Maggie the puppy!! It truly was a pleasant experience, we went specifically for the cycling, but it was so much more. The cycling was the icing on a very delicious... more

My husband and I stayed at the Ranney-Crawford house for 2 sunny days this July. We brought our bikes are were provided with plenty of great routes for biking by Arnie. The terrain and scenery was perfect -and the delicious breakfasts fueled us for many miles. The very helpful West Hill bike shop is just a few miles away -... more
