My husband and I were down here from Toronto for a cycling trip over the May long weekend and we couldn't have been happier with our stay. We chose this as a home base and did different routes each day. Ruthie is an amazing hostess, the rooms are very clean and super comfortable, the breakfasts are perfect - lots of... More

We loved the victorian details and the peaceful style chosen by Ruth. She made us feel very much at home. Newport is a terrific town sited in the center of such a beautiful region. We will happily revisit this little gem!

My husband and I had a wonderful time when we spent three nights at Little Gnesta in March 2013. We stayed at Little Gnesta due to its proximity to Jay Peak. However, we would like to return someday to bike from Newport, VT to Quebec. Ruth is a delightful hostess. Newport is a cute town on a large lake. Bonus:... More

We have been travelling to the Northeast Kingdom for at least 10 years, multiple times every winter, to ski. Several years ago, our "regular place" closed, and it has been hard to find a new "home away from home". It looks like this may be "the one". Attention to detail was outstanding, the breakfast was absolutely top notch with local,... More

We booked a room here after reading all the amazing reviews and were glad we did. Everything everyone said was true. The home is beautiful, clean, and true to style. The breakfast was simple and tasty, featuring many local products. Our host was informative, hospitable, and flexible. We highly recommend it to anyone wanting a great night sleep in the... More

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in March for a weekend ski trip up to Jay peak in the Are room. It was very convenient, being not too far off of the highway. I didn't know what to expect, but it was a lovely place in a very nice town. Everything was clean and well appointed. Before... More

As B&B operators ourselves, we always look forward to staying in other bed & breakfasts. Little Gnesta was a delightful place to stay. From the unique beds to the homemade granola, it was a wonderful experience. Ruth is a tremendous ambassador for Newport and gave us lots of great recommendations.

My sons and I stayed at the Little Gnesta for a weekend getaway to Jay Peak (about 25 minutes away). The rooms were immaculate, comfortable and with plenty of space. Breakfast was a delightful little taste of Sweden using local farms/providers that my boys thoroughly enjoyed. The location is very convenient; only a couple blocks from Newport's main street and... We stayed at Little Gnesta in February and skied at Jay Peak, it was WONDERFUL. Ruth is incredibly warm and accommodating. She has taken such care in the design and it really feels like you are in Scandinavia. If it's not European, it is local; she has hand-selected local and/or hand-made bath products, breakfast cheeses, yogurt, butter and breads. After... More
