Twice in a week, I stayed at Little Gnesta--first alone and then with my family. It was perfect! Super clean, unpretentious, and in a great location three blocks from downtown Newport. Ruthie, the owner, was extraordinary--going out of her way to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. Great homemade granola too!

You can't go wrong with this small B&B located just blocks from the center of Newport, Vermont. We were traveling to Montreal and stopped on our way to spend the night. My decision to stay here was based on other Trip Advisor reviews. They were right. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is a clean, pleasant, comfy home with lovely... More

We wanted a unique place to stay near my ancestral roots, and this was definitely it! The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable and the location an easy walk to shops, food and Lake Memphremagog. Our hostess was helpful with recommendations for eating and sight-seeing. Although the Swedish style breakfast was not my husband's favorite, it was perfect for... More

Relaxing and comfortable stay at the Little Guest house. We were made very welcome, which continued through out the visit. The rooms were large and comfortable. Thanks Ruth. Lovely relaxing village too.

Too many rules to meet this guest's expectations. My door to my Umea room could not be locked since it lacked keys. Shoes must be removed upon arrival. Areas of the house are clearly marked private. Decor of the house is more appropriate for a private home, as the walls highlight the hostess's society wedding of long ago. On the... More

I'm sorry Little Gnesta didn't meet this guest's expectations. Our white-washed wooden floors are an integral part of our Scandinavian style . The no-shoes policy is to keep our floors pristine for all future guests. While private areas are necessary because the owner lives on site, many other public areas are available to guests. More

We spent two terrific nights in Umea, a large guest room with an incredibly comfortable bed. It was quiet and restful yet centrally located so that we could park the car and walk to all the local restaurants! The breakfast was warm and filling - served on beautiful china. Ruth was wonderful-very accommodating to our schedule and with terrific ideas... More

Ruthie and Phillip (the adorable pooch) were the perfect hosts for a great long weekend escape for my fiancé and I. Linens were crisp, room was spotless, wifi was very fast, having access to cable/roku/etc ensured I didn't miss either Sunday football or the Walking Dead. The house is immaculate and Ruthie's choice in decor made me feel like I... More

The house was cozy and beautiful. Ruth was very welcoming and showed us what to do in the area. Her suggestions were great and we had a good time. It was a pleasure meeting Ruth and Phillip. Thanks for the wonderful visit!

Ruth runs a simple but lovely B&B. My renovated room was spacious and comfy with it's own thermostat and a nice bathroom. A well prepared breakfast hit all the needs. Little Gnesta is on a residential block and is in walking distance to restaurants and the lake. I'd recommend.

Little Gnesta has a good location with an easy walk to town and the lake. Our room was very clean and comfortable with a well appointed bathroom. Breakfast is simple and quite good with locally sourced items. Many thanks to Ruth, the owner, for making us feel as if we were family. We'd definitely stay again whenever we're in Newport.
