This was our first visit to Newport. I'm glad we stayed here, it was perfect. It's a nice location for taking day trips hiking or cycling. You can walk downtown for dinner. This is a nicely renovated b&b in a Scandinavian style. Ruth makes very good granola, and there is really good local cheese in the breakfast buffet. She seemed... More

Our recent 3 night stay at Little Gnesta was delightful. Ruth was a welcoming, knowledgeable hostess. Our room, Umea, was spacious, light-filled, tastefully appointed and very clean. The delicious, buffet-style breakfasts consisted of healthy, locally sourced foods. We were so pleased with our stay that, should we return to Newport, we would plan our trip around availability at Little Gnesta.... More

My husband and I stayed at Little Gnesta in late July for just one night. This was early in a long trip where we stayed somewhere different almost every night, and Little Gnesta wins the prize for cleanliness, comfort, and best upkeep of all the places we stayed. Breakfast was tasty and largely locally-acquired foods, which definitely added appeal. The... More

My husband and I stayed at Little Gnesta last weekend. Our room was very comfortable. We stayed in the Are room in front of the house. Ruth, our hostess, was very friendly and a wealth of information about Newport. Breakfast was healthy as opposed to the fat and sugar laden B&B breakfast's you get elsewhere. The Inn is conveniently located... More

We had the chance to stay for one night- everything was exceptional! The home is absolutely immaculate, which is likely due in part to the "no-shoes" policy. We stayed in the Lulea room in the back of the home. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom looks brand new. Breakfast was yogurt with fresh blueberries and granola, turkey, ham,... I had the opportunity to stay here while attending a training for work in Newport, and what a sweet treat it was. From the welcome to the decor everything was wonderful. This is the cleanest place I've ever stayed, ever. It all comes together and just makes you feel good. And the special Carpe Diam beds are truly wonderful. Having... More

A friend and I have traveled throughout Vermont for a long weekend each year staying at a B and B, and exploring the area via road cycling. Little Gnesta was the perfect place to base our NE Kingdom adventure. Ruth is incredibly friendly, and made us feel really welcome. The inn is immaculate, light filled, and with excellent attention to... More

We stayed for two nights in mid-July and found LG, and Ruth and Philip, charming. Clean, comfortable, quiet, with a great breakfast with excellen coffee both days. We are natives of Newport, now living in Ontario, and certainly plan on a return visit. Thanks for a delightful stay, Ruth.

In July, 2014, my friend and I stayed here for our 2 night road trip to Bread and Puppet theatre in Glover and we had the most wonderful experience. Thank you to Ruth for opening her home up for us. I have never felt more welcome in a Bed and Breakfast than I did here. The location was perfect for... More
