Stayed in the Are suite on the main floor. Very spacious and modern. Fantastic bed. Ruth, the owner was extremely prompt in answering any questions and being flexible on my arrival time as it kept on changing.

Beautiful old restored home. Very large room. Excellent service and breakfast. We would stay there again if passing through the Northeast Kingdom/Newport Vt. The owner took great care to make us comfortable. This was our first experience staying at a B & B and we were very impressed.

This B&B was just right. It was clean, comfortable, had lots of light and old home charm with modern amenities. The location is in a picturesque little town on a lake front and many little shops and resturaunts. The breakfast was home made and great. We would stay here again.

Very comfortable accommodations, very friendly atmosphere, breakfast is delicious, we had access to everything we needed to really enjoy 4 days in the area. We swam in waterfalls and lakes, sampled artisan farm products in Quebec, biked the bike path, kayaked the river, and visited a local brewery. We did not have time to enjoy all the activities. Don't miss... More

I called Little Gnesta on very short notice when I needed a place to stay for a two day business trip to Newport. I was offered a very spacious, comfortable, clean, and beautifully furnished room at a very reasonable price. The details in this place were spectacular; the painted tiles on the fireplace, the various bottles of shampoo and body... More

I stayed for a week at Little Gnesta in Are, a very spacious room with an open feel, light (and I found the room darkening shades for nighttime), very clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. There were two comfy chairs for reading. Plenty of hot water in the roomy shower. The breakfast room was very light with attention... More

My husband and I have a place in our hearts for Sweden. He is a first generation Swede, and we appreciate many of his homeland traditions. The owner of Little Gnesta, Ruth, has captured the Swedish ethos. Every morning, she sets the breakfast table with white cotton napkins, silver accessories, and a touch of blue. All of the furniture would... More

It's always great when those familiar with Sweden are pleased with Little Gnesta. Thanks for that! I'm only sorry that you didn't tell me about the light coming from the windows. The info. sheet on the wall that I showed you when you arrived would have told you that there are room-darkening shades behind the cloth shades for your comfort.... More

We have stayed numerous times over the last few years as business brought us to Newport. We have always found a warm welcome from Ruth, the owner, and Phillip, a sweet dog. The room is always very clean and fresh and we have always had a quiet night's sleep after a long day of meetings and a lovely breakfast and... More

We had a great stay at Little Gnesta. The room was very clean, with plenty of room for unpacking, a hair dryer, soap and shampoo, etc. Breakfast was indeed very Swedish - yogurt with homemade granola, meats and (extremely delicious) cheeses, lingonberry jam on local bakery breads, coffee, OJ, etc. It's in a great location - 5 min walk to... Extremely east to make reservations and we were fortunate to be able to check in early. Our room, as all of the spaces, was exceptionally clean, bright and comfortable. We had a a very nice breakfast and fabulous coffee as well as a good variety of cheeses. A comfy sitting room drenched in light for reading or relaxing was a... More

Yes, as we state on our website, that room is small at 10' by 10'. As a result, the air conditioner in that room makes it absolutely freezing when set properrly. My guess is that you had it set to "fan" instead of "cool," (which often happens to me when I'm not wearing my glasses!). I wish I had known... More
