This is a big, old Victorian place that is well maintained. The location is very central and within walking distance to downtown restaurants, theaters, park and other sites in the state's capital. The rooms are clean, quiet and adequately well appointed and with modern amenities. There are sitting rooms, a well stocked kitchen and porches in front and back. My... More

As for your bed, I'm sorry that you had some difficulties, but please know that we'd be happy to make whatever accommodations we can in the moment! Regardless, I appreciate the description of the Inn and its proximity to some... More

Once a year we pick a new place to have a reunion with our friends. This year it was Montpelier and it turned out to be an excellent choice for three nights. For a capitol city, it was surprisingly tiny. From the Inn at Montpelier we could walk to restaurants, theater, state house, museum, farmer's market and street fair. The... More

After a long drive thought this was far enough - wish we had carried on! Very little choice for accommodation and having read tripadvisor this sounded ok. Very uninterested and unwelcoming girl on reception when we arrived asking for availability, showed us two standards of room in main building - we took the more expensive which was a reasonable size... Thanks for staying with us, Alexa. I'm sorry to read that your service both at check-in and at breakfast wasn't as top-notch as it should've been. We want to give you a classic New England experience, which includes everything from the old and charming style of our B&B to warm and inviting service, that we are known for. We were... More

Unfortunately, we were in Montpelier for a family member's funeral, and only stayed here one night. But we loved our cozy room, and had a very comfortable night's sleep. When I spoke with the innkeeper, she said she was looking for a part-time handyman. We noticed paint flaking from the windowsill in our room, but an old home like this... More

We were in town for a family function. After the 4 hr drive we found the inn to be just right. Antique & charming but well appointed room, cozy sitting rooms, 24 hr pantry with hot beverages, cookies, fruit. We could walk to everything in the downtown area. We would stay again.

We stayed in a top floor room at the front. The street was noisy until quite late into the evening. Room was okay; had an old world feeling but we suspect it could have done with a spring clean, and it certainly needed a fair bit of maintenance (as could the whole place). The porch at the front of the... More

We visited Montpelier on a Fall leaf peeping trip through the north east and just loved this little hotel. We would very happily stay at the Inn again and again. This is an old bulding with loads of character. If ultra modern is what you are after, then this place is not for you. But if you like the vestiges... More

If you are looking for a high end B and B while doing some Vermont leaf peeping, the Inn at Montpelier is the place. It is a bit expensive, but the rooms are very nice and bigger than they seem on the webstie. WE had a balcony that we could have had a nice evening party on (if we had... More
