A 5 for breakfast and the friendly staff. A 3.5 for the room. Breakfast was incredible. Freshly-made food TO ORDER. We were able to choose between eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes... in addition to fruit and muffins already available on the table. The young ladies serving at breakfast were very friendly. We also arrived very, very late. The hotel's folks were... More

Staying at Betsy's might not be for everyone, as seen i, some reviews that begin negative. But, if you want a reasonably priced B&B with character, priced competitively with chain motels, then you'll find an interesting slice of urban Vermont in Betsy's rooms. Ever so slightly off-kilter, style wise, there's a charm to the place that isn't possible in overly... More

Not one but three properties and if you're not in the main house you tend to feel a little isolated. We arrived to a very indifferent welcome, the owner seemed surprised that somebody with a booking had turned up. We were directed to our room two houses away, which we eventually found. All the houses seem to be decorated in... More

My husband and I recently stayed at Betsy's during our New England vacation. We always stay in B&B's during our travels so have many other inns to compare to our stay at Betsy's. We just would not recommend staying at Betsy's. Our room was in the "Annex" house. The room was dark and dingy with a layer of dust covering... More

I really looked forward to staying here but was so disappointed. I knew it wasn't going to be good as I walked up the front outside stairs and saw they were starting to detach from the porch. The front door was filthy with loads of dirty fingerprint marks. The inside was cute enough but I stayed in the house next... More

This was our first visit to the northern kingdom of Vermont and we were totally charmed by Betsy's B&B in Montpelier. A lovely small town atmosphere for the capitol of Vermont in an absolutely picturesque location in the Green Mountains. Betsy's is lovely, charming, friendly and the food is divine, just yummy. Our room accommodations were wonderful, a second floor... More

Betsy's B&B is the perfect place to stay in Montpelier. We enjoyed a very short walk to downtown. The staff was very friendly and helpful in recommending places to eat. We stayed in room 3 and had a lovely second story view of the street to the front of the house. Breakfast in the morning was wonderful. Everything about Betsy's... More

I give this three stars only because the location is so central to the main street. The accommodation and related services are over-priced. We were put in an overflow house next to the main Betsy B&B. It was a cheerless house. The room decor was heavy/dark, dated, and unattractive. The overflow house is set up like four individual two-bedroom suites... More

We booked a room at Betsy's in October last year and received a confirmation for a Queen size bed. Upon arriving, we found that the main house was delightful with period wood moldings and furnishings. When we checked in, we were given a small room with only a full size bed, not a Queen size bed. The room had smaller... More

We came to Vermont to attend my niece's wedding. Coming by train, Montpelier had the best combination of a train station, proximity to the wedding, and a rental car location that would deliver a car to us. Betsy met us at the train and brought us to her home. It is two homes, side-by-side, with driveway space for several cars.... More
