Two words: very sketch. The room reeked of cigarette smoke, probably related to the cigarette hole burns on the comforter. The air conditioner was covered in a mix of mold and/or dust, and my very awesome room was right next to the two very broken and crusted with something fowl ice machines. 3 miles from Barre, 3 miles from Montpelier,... Quite small inn. Only stayed two night with my wife. The lady at front desk as friendly and helpful when greeted us around 10:30 pm. I found it to be clean and comfortable as well as quiet. Just what we were looking for. Shower and place to spend quite night

We will never stay here again. The room was large. That is a plus. There were water spots on the ceiling. I found a blood spot on my quilt. I cleaned my own tub when we because it was not cleaned by the maid. There was free WiFi that did not work in our room. I had to go to... More

I have never felt so compelled to write a review, however, in this case, I must. I have had the horrific experience of staying at this Motel. Three nights of hell, due to my work booking me. I checked in to the most unpleasant woman on earth. I mentioned I would be in town for work and hoped for a... More

One of the worst places we have ever been to. Rude staff at reception, dirty room, peeling wallpaper, very bad odor. Besides a nice view from the back of the hotel, we would have absolutely nothing to recommend about this establishment. If you are planning to stay here, I would sincerly suggest you change you plans, and pick another location... More

My parents, husband, 4yo son and I stayed at the Hilltop for nearly **a week** in two rooms to celebrate my brother's graduation from NECI. He had booked the hotel for us months in advance, only after trying and failing to reserve rooms at the nearby preferred B&B (I don't know the name). Pros: +Pretty easy to get anywhere from... More

Poor service- gray towels, no towels for pool, not enough towels for room, musty smell in hallways and aromatic scent from cooking among staff residing in rooms, not enough coverage at front desk, substandard breakfast. Also power outage occurred and no extra attention given by staff- hallways dark, no flashlights or other services provided. Pool is unattended and a murky... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 1 night in July. The location was quite good, since we arrived here from Burlington and visited the Ben & Jerry's factory in Waterbury the following morning, and neither of these trips involved a lot of driving. The hotel is a bit to the side from the centrum of Montpelier though. The room... More

Wow we've stayed in lots of hotels in America, but this was the worst by far. I picked it because of price but I really regret that now. Montpelier was actually one of my favorite towns on this trip and I wish we would've stayed somewhere in town instead of this hotel far out of town. This hotel was in... More
