This hotel shows signs of age and wear. The bed was clean, however, as was the bathroom. The tv's in the rooms are quite large and there is a good cable tv selection. The continental breakfast is dingy at best and you're better off just hitting the road and finding something to eat around town. Overall, it's not a bad... More

Though this is not a honeymoon suite it is an extremely clean and professional place to stay. The breakfast was awesome, nice tv's and the rooms were clean. We stayed 2nights and will definitely return for our next trip. My step son goes to Norwhich University so we were looking for a cheap place to crash before our 8 hour... More

The staff was very nice and accommodating. I had alot going on while I was in Vermont. I stayed in the hotel for 2 weeks. The first room had a problem with the air, them moved me right into another room, first thing in the morning. The breakfast was nice, it was great to not have to go out and... More

My room smelled like cat urine. I asked for another room. I was told that the smell was from someone spilling water. I told them that it burned my eyes and I either wanted another room or a refund. I got another room. The floors were sagging and uneven. Mold in the tub. The frig in the room would not... More

I stayed at this property last year and it was just like the reviews. Looked like pay by the hour motel.. But this hotel as improved and no were it is like the reviews. Still needs improvement, but compared to what is available in Montpelier it is the best value in town. More

This was the first time we have ever stayed in an Econolodge and probably the last. Also, our first visit to Vermont. We were on the road and called ahead to find lodging, and traveled to Montpelier where rooms were available at the Econolodge. The motel lobby doors (?) were wide open allowing flies to buzz about the room. Also,... More

Thank you for your recent stay at our hotel, we truly appreciate your business. We would like you to know that we set a standard of quality for our guests that we always ensure is met by our staff. However, I would like to take the time to clarify a few of the issues you have mentioned. Our house keepers... More

I was there for an event hosted in Waitsfield, Vermont. All hotels booked near Waitsfield for that event so I booked Econolodge in Montpelier. This hotel is located in very convenient location to shops and restaurants. Walking distance to downtown and historic state house. Breakfast was beyond my expectation they have; make your own waffles station, sausage, boiled eggs, yogurt... More

I tried to keep an open mind and ignore some of the other reviews, but this place lived up to its poor description. The hallways smelled damp and smoky, the room smelled like chemical cleaners, and the continental breakfast was very sad. My phone didn't work. The room itself was reasonably clean and the place was fairly quiet. Unfortunately, there... More

We are very sorry to hear of your displeasure with our facilities. I assure you though, I (the desk clerk you are refering to in your post) am not demoralized by working here, in fact it is quite rewarding to have this position. I do hope that in the future you reconsider staying with us, we promise not to disappoint... More

The reviewers below who thought this place was a good place to stay are either employees posing as reviewers or I'll have what they're smoking....Stay away from this dump!! Hallways hadn't seen a vacuum in a very long time. Also smelled of bleach, I suspect to hide a worse smell. Once in the room, the stench of cigarette smoke, mold... More

Though unfortunate as you say this room was to your liking, we find it suspicious that you would rate the poorest quality sleep if you claim to have been here no more than 15 minutes. Rooms are cleaned daily and you must have gotten a room that was "deep cleaned" with bleach and air fresheners, we stand behind our hotel's... More

I recently attended a graduation in Montpelier and had the distinct displeasure of staying at this hotel. I traveled with another couple who had also booked a room here. Upon checking in, my friends found visible mold growing on the dresser in their room. This room was either not cleaned anytime recently or the hotel rented it knowing that there... More

Thank you for your response, we do apologize for the misunderstanding and the less than pleasant impression of our hotel. However, we would like to point out that each room is cleaned daily, and upon inspection of the room in question there was NO MOLD found whatsoever. Our lobby does in fact have doors, they were open upon your arrival... More
