I needed to go to Barre, VT for work. I prefer to stay within 10 minutes of my morning (work) destination. I ended up at the Comfort Inn, Maplewood and I'm really glad I did! Initially I was concerned because there are several steps leading up to the front entrance, but it was okay. The desk clerk, Jesse, was awesome!... More

This is a remarkable hotel. While it is a chain motel, the attention to detail and service equals a five star hotel. From the flowers outside to the polished apples to the free sodas and cookies to very friendly service, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Very nice motel, but the lack of an elevator in a hotel with three floors knocks it down one level. Otherwise I would have given this place an excellent. That said, the staff are willing to carry your suitcases up stairs. Very clean, rooms very comfortable. Lots of extras. They have a nice large lobby where cookies and hot cider... More

One of the best Comfort Inns that I have stayed at. Not fancy-shmancy but friendly, clean and a lot of thoughtful touches. Like fresh cookies and free soft drinks when you come into the lobby. Then, in the room, two small bottles of maple syrup, two chocolate candies and two samples of Cabot Cheese. Also a couple of bottles of... More

This particular Comfort Inn is, by far, the best-run Comfort Inn we have visited anywhere (and that includes the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The front lobby is pleasantly appointed and a pleasure to sit in and people-watch. The cheerful greeting and incredibly fast service at the front desk is a great start. The rooms are spotless, spacious and... More

My husband and I stayed at this Comfort Inn for one night at the end of a road trip throughout New England. Its location is very convenient since it's right off the highway, although you won't be able to walk to anywhere except a gas station and an Applebees. We felt the customer-service love from the moment we walked into... More

We booked after reading other great reviews and we were not very pleased. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with suggestions for things to do and places to eat in the area. The lobby had a coffee/tea/soda bar which is complementary. The room was great, as was the complementary breakfast downstairs which included real Vermont maple syrup. There is... More

Stopped by here while visiting Norwich University. The desk staff was excellent and the room was clean and decently appointed. Breakfast was the standard fair but it would be a stretch to find another breakfast bar that served the real deal.....Vermont maple syrup! Considering the general Montipelier?Barre area I would say this is by far one of the better places... More

We booked here after reading the great reviews on Trip Advisor and they were certainly accurate. Free coffee and cookies in Reception, bottles of water in our room and a coffee maker. Breakfast was great with lots of choices of hot and cold food. The staff were so friendly and helpful, even calling our room after we had settled in... More

I can't give this place a 5 owl-eye ranking because come on, it's a Comfort Inn. What I can tell you, though, is that it's a great experience. The staff was friendly, and the Comfort Inn's approach to operating a hotel can easily put me in a good mood. Everything, including little perks, is included in the price of the... More
