Great experience. I have stayed here once before and love the area, the shops, and the restaurant. The only issue was my room air conditioning did not work during the night and it got quite warm. My friend had the same problem in her room.

My family and I have visited Vermont a few times over the last 14 years but always stayed with relatives. Not being able to do so this time I was recommended to try The Capital Plaza. Our Experience was top notch. The suite was larger than my husband and I expected. Very clean with a comfortable bed and nice size... More

Great place to stay in Montpelier. The onsite restaurant, J. Morgan's, is fabulous and the hotel is quiet, the rooms are clean, the beds super comfy and the staff are efficient and friendly! There is so much to like about a stay at the Capitol Plaza!

I stay on occasion at the Capitol Plaza, and I've always been pleased with the facilities. Easy to get to, convenient to downtown Montpelier and the State House, free parking. Can be a bit pricey at times.

Stay at the nearby comfort inn and suites instead for: better rooms, free breakfast, newer rooms, better non-room services, etc. the only thing CP has going for it is location in town. Avoid the crass and plastic Vermont legislators who stay here during sessions as well, they are a huge detractor (and are only eclipsed in rudeness by the the... More

The staff is so friendly and helpful that they make up for the uncalled $118 per night. The hotel was a construction site and one could not even enjoy a phone conversation in the lobby. The bed was comfortable, the Keurig coffee maker was a plus (but not sustainable for the environment). The only real hotel in town, unfortunately, so... More

Dear Nadia M, Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to write a review. I'm sorry that you were inconvenienced by our lobby renovation. This spring, we've been renovating and updating our hotel lobby to better serve our guests. In addition to cosmetic updates, we have added an ADA Accessible Reception Desk, 2 lobby guest workstations,... More

I was here for business and the room was comfortable and quiet. I had two double beds, which was fine. The bed was comfortable, but I couldn't get the temperature down enough. The bathroom was pretty small, but fine for one person. I was on the 3rd floor and walked up to my room because the elevator was small and... More

This is a good place to hold a meeting. Catering always puts out a good spread and wait staff is very helpful. Unfortunately, there was renovation construction going on right outside the meeting room door and we had a hard time hearing the speaker whenever the power tools were in use. Seems like you wouldn't want to book a meeting... More

Dear FlaviaFlav, Thank you for your review. It's always nice when someone takes the time to review the conference. I'm glad that you always enjoy the food and the service. I'm sorry you were inconvenienced by the renovation of the lobby. I wish the leader or even an attendee would have let us know and we would've immediately asked the... More

The service of front desk is without a doubt one of the best I've experienced. Location of hotel is centrally located in Montpelier and of close proximity to our commute back and forth to Norwich University. What is strange is the attempt of blending modern decor within a historic building. It seems like a mixed back of decor styles and... More

Dear Joidevivre Thank you for rave review for our staff. I have shared it with them and they were so pleased to hear your comments. I'm also glad that you found our rooms and beds very comfortable. You're correct, The Capitol Plaza is a historic hotel with modern touches. We have found that if anything looks too historic, even if... More
