Under renovation March 2015. Busy local hotel with limited availability while legislators are in town. There for a three day meeting, and reserved a standard room. Was informed to book a room in the back of the hotel as the church bells nearest the front can be disruptive in the middle of the night. Not sure it was the big... More

Sometimes the non-chain hotels can be very hit or miss, but this one is a hit! The rooms are tastefully updated, the shower was a full tile and the Keurig in the room is a nice bonus. The staff at the desk (Valerie and the other girls name whom i think of at the moment) were extremely friendly and even... More

My son had a great day at the Eagle Scout luncheon. Food is great. We all had a perfect day. Thanks for everything. Governor Jim Douglas gave a great speech about the merits of Scouting. Thanks to the American Legion for organizing this event.

Dear Steve T, Thank you for posting your nice review about the Eagle Scouts Banquet. We just renovated our Governor's Ballroom and I'm glad you liked it. More importantly, I'm glad you and your son enjoyed the event and I'll be sure to pass on your appreciation to the American Legion for hosting. More

As one who spends <too> many nights on the road on account of my chosen profession, the Capitol Plaza is a rock. The staff is pleasant and cheery. They make a sincere effort to accommodate the business traveler, and any guest for that matter. The food is great @ Jmorgans dining, --which is available as room service. Rooms are nice,... More

Dear Bob C, Thank you for staying with us on your business trips and for the very nice review. I'll be sure to pass this on to the front desk staff and the housekeepers as they always love to hear our guests' compliments. I agree that the view facing the Church is tops, although one could argue that the view... More

Outstanding customer service, particularly in making accommodations due to the recent winter storm! Thank you to Laura and staff!!! Perfect place to stay if visiting the New England Culinary Institute.

Clean/Safe hotel, good price, free parking... Stayed here for a ski trip and it was only a 30 minute ride to Stowe in a snow storm. Would definitely stay here again... No issues at all and good stay generally.

My wife and I are newlywed healthcare professionals and we were looking for a fun weekend trip. We booked the new Amtrak Vermonter train from Springfield, Ma to Montpelier, VT and discreetly brought aboard a nice bottle of wine, some cheese, crackers, and a warm blanket. On the weekend of our travel (1/10/15) it was very cold and we had... More

Thank you Joe for your wonderful and detailed review of your visit. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us at the Capitol Plaza and your dinner at J.Morgans. Those loaded potato chips are one of my favorites too. We've shared this review with our staff, especially the shuttle driver and front desk receptionist. It was so nice... More

This is fun hotel, its an older building but nicely renovated. Its in an ideal location, downtown with easy walk to restaurants and about 40 minutes to great skiing (that's why we stayed there). Very nice front desk staff, clean rooms, comfy beds. It doesn't have a pool, that was about the only downside.

I stayed for 2 nights at the Capitol Plaza, and would return there in a heartbeat. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The State House is diagonally across the street, so it's easy to hoof it over there for meetings. Free Internet and Keurig coffee in the room, and a relatively small, but well equipped fitness room with state of the... More

Stayed on the 2nd floor and my room was sandwiched between offices. Yes, they have offices in the middle of the hotel. You know you won't have any rowdy neighbors. Nice lobby and the hotel is very convenient for walking around the quaint town. The rooms need a bit of updating, but they were very clean.
