Our friends planned the original trip to grampa grunts and now we're planning one to bring our friends. While at the lodge we read a lot of the history about it on the walls- whether it was the carvings or what the owners posted. We visited soon after the passing of Grampa, however it was still an awesome trip. Know... More

Had a reservation from November and they dropped me for a college trip and did not even have the decency to inform me. Better off staying in Burlington its cheaper overall. Grunts puts five people in a room at $35 a person a night and calls it a deal when you can get a room at the Hilton in Burlington... More

We are very sorry for this experience. It was our mistake not returning your message, but a message on our answering machine does not a reservation make. I am glad to see you found a place in Burlington and hope all worked out well for you. Your original call in November was just after Grampa's passing and we were in... More

Just spent a Wednesday night there on our way to Jay Peak. Have to admit when i saw the pics and some reviews i thought i would hate it but it's a great place. Ok, it isn't the cleanest most put together place in the state. You'll see graffiti on the walls..but that's the charm of it. Talk to the... More

Grampa Grunts Lodge <10 miles from Jay Peak, comfortable, laid back, friendly, amazing homemade breakfast, all for $47/night - everything I was hoping for and even a working sauna. Not for anyone looking for reason to complain. Just a great place to sleep, eat and chat with good people. Yea, I'd stay there again.

Grandpa grunts overall I would have to say was an experience. It is a fun, laid back place with great people. Everyone who works there is friendly and more than willing to help as well as the people staying there. The breakfast was delicious and its a 15 min. drive to Jay peak. Walking distance to the grocery store and... More

My family and I were lucky enough to stumble upon this place because the hotel we initially booked couldn't accommodate us for the time we needed. Funny, I was annoyed at having to switch lodging in the middle of our trip. The reward- finding he most welcoming, charming, clean, picturesque... home away from home. My family and I had a... More

A very special place in a very special place, owned & run by good people. The "mountain effect" is very obvious when you enter montgomery center and the lodge is a throw back to simpler times. If you are a true rider/skier this is the place for you, affordable, comfy, and rich w/ history. Like any place that lets you be... More
