This was our second time at this wonderful inn that is under new ownership and management. Our room was great and decorated in antique period which was a perfect fit for this heritage property. The inn has two buildings and this time we stayed in the Burdett House which is quite private. We had wonderful breakfasts which were embellished with... More

We read online that the conditions for Jay Peak were excellent for Easter weekend and were excited about the weekend as we had not been to Jay in 5 years. We wanted to stay in Montgomery because we have memories of a decent night life there at the Snow shoe Inn and we really like Belfry's Restaurant. The Black Lantern... More

I stayed here for Valentine's Day weekend with my boyfriend in the Bernadette Suite 5, which is in a separate house from the main Inn. We chose to stay here rather than at one of the Jay Peak hotels as it was about the same price and this seemed more private. The Inn is still within a short drive of... More

Just stayed one night at The Black Lantern Inn prior to skiing at Jay Peak. What a wonderful place. A terrific Irish bar complete with Guinness and a host of other beers and Irish wiskeys. The restaurant was very cozy and first class and the food was wonderful. The rooms are quaint and you feel like you're in a B&B... More

Just back from a frigid few days of skiing at Jay Peak. Stayed at the Black Lantern, rather than on the mountain, and certainly do not regret it. The Inn is really old -- early 1800s -- so one has to take that into account when looking at the amenities offered. The dining room was fabulous and the staff also... More

My boyfriend and I decided to stay at The Black Lantern Inn due to its proximity to Jay Peak, size of room, jacuzzi, and wood burning fireplace. Since we would be staying up here to ring in the new year at the mountain, I decided to call ahead and ask if there were any taxi services available. The girl on... More

I chose this Inn due to it's proximity to my cousins home, whom I was visiting for Thanksgiving holiday. It was an incredibly good decision! The Inn is early 1800's and is well maintained. The room was small but comfortable, even the bed! The water pressure was fantastic for such an old building. I thought the price was very cheap,... More

An easy 15-minute drive to Jay Peak makes the Black Lantern Inn very accessible to some of the best skiing in the East. My wife and I stayed Friday and Saturday night after Thanksgiving for a little skiing but more importantly for a Hot Tuna concert at Jay Peak. After driving 5 plus hours we were looking forward to checking... More

We recently had the privilege of staying at the Black Lantern Inn. We could not have been more pleased with the Inn. The rooms are nice sized with comfortable beds. Very appropriate for the area. Breakfast is delicious. especially the blueberry pancakes. Several choices are available each morning. Charlie starts you off with a cup of coffee and caters to... More

We visited in late May, well ahead of the season, but the place was quite busy. It is a short ride from Jay Peak and in the midst of the lovely Northeast Kingdom. Greg Lucas has owned the Inn for a little more than a year and has it in good shape. Greg's family has lived in the area for... More
