My husband and I spent 2 wonderful nights at the swift house inn in middlebury VT. Cozy, great innkeepers, fire place, double jacuzzi and delicious full breakfast in front of a fire. Lovely area for shopping and exploring. Excellent dinner at Jenny's in the Inn- will definitely return!!

We very much enjoyed enjoyed a winter weekend stay at this lovely old inn that began life as the residence of Vermont governors. The three buildings offer a wide range of styles for guests: more traditional in the main building (especially charming, though, and convenient to the restaurant); more luxurious in the carriage house (larger rooms, more modern and spacious... The Swift House Inn treated our family very well. Preparing for a wedding, it was the perfect spot and we had the Gate House to ourselves. The buildings are well maintained and very comfortable. Our breakfasts were delicious. It is a lovely spot and the owners work hard to balance everything.

We were on our way home from a winter weekend in Vermont and spent a fantastic night at the Swift House Inn. The room was lovely and the food in the restaurant was excellent! The staff is welcoming and full of warm hospitality from the front desk, to the cozy bar to the breakfast and dining rooms. 5 stars to... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the Swift House Inn. It is really a lovely Inn - well-appointed with beautiful furnishings, and very clean. There is a nice little bar area where we enjoyed a pre-dinner drink talking with other guests and employees. Although the restaurant was not open for dinner the night we were there, we enjoyed walking to... More

We stayed at this lovely property 3 nights in October during a leaf peeping trip. The accommodations were delightful, and the staff could not have been more friendly. The location is convenient for walking into town to dine, shop, or for just a lovely stroll. We found the Swift House Inn to be the perfect base for day trips to... More

This was a perfect honeymoon spot for us. The atmosphere was relaxing, the accommodations were luxurious, and all of the staff were attentive and helpful. The building where we stayed contained many on site amenities, like a sauna and steam room. Our room contained additional luxuries such a whirl pool tub for two, and a real wood fireplace. The on... We spent one night at this inn, and I thought it was close to perfect. We were in the Emma Willard room, which was a corner room that was spacious and charmingly decorated (it was too warm to use the fireplace, but it added to the charm of the room). We enjoyed the small, intimate bar (with local beers on... More

We just stayed one night and this Inn was nice. When we checked in, it was busy and it wasn't as personal as you would think at an Inn. We stayed in the governors room and it was clean/comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was very good but the service was not as good. We waited a while to get acknowledged... More

Our stay was perfect. The split of champagne for our anniversary was a very nice touch. The food was outstanding although we didn't get a chance to dine in the restaurant. We loved the location as it was in walking distance to town. Everyone was "over the top" in helpfulness. Were we pleased to finally find not one but TWO... More
