I stayed at the MI overnight for a business meeting. My room was very comfortable and very clean. It overlooked the park and was surpirsingly quiet. My only disappontment was that I was unable to get WIFI in my room. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was a major disappointment and I would suggest walking down the street to enjoy other... More

Very nice place. We would definitely come back. We stayed in the original part of the Inn. We had a very nice room, on the corner with a separate sitting area.

Being history buffs, we always choose historic places over standard hotels. We had a pleasant stay the last week of September. However the hotel needs a little extra TLC. We noted peeling paint, rotted exterior wood, some worn carpet,etc... This property is so beautiful and can be a real treasure with some extra effiort. We had a wonderful dinner at... More

Thank you for your helpful comments. As always, I like to hear what our guests see and experience. We have worked hard to bring the Inn back to its historical splendor and of courses its a work in progress. A 180 year old building needs alot of TLC, as you so astutely pointed out. I also appreciate your comments about... More

We had a group of five couples. Service was excellant and rooms were clean, well appointed and very comfortable. I would highly recommend the Mmiddlebury Inn to anyone traveling in this beautiful part of our country.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way through Vermont and were glad to leave. We booked online and then had to change our plans to add a night at very short notice, but the hotel staff were very helpful when I called to arrange this. They were also helpful and courteous when we arrived and during our stay,... More

I'm sorry your stay was anything less than perfect. At any price (and we're certainly not the most expensive option in Middlebury), you expect a clean comfortable room. I'm pleased that our front desk staff were responsive and that we corrected any intitial deficiencies. Yes, some of our rooms (the annex) are not part of the historic main inn, however... More

I travel a lot for business (100+ nights a year), and 95% of the time stay in major chain hotels. However, when I go through Middlebury, I always choose the Middlebury Inn. If you like historic hotels, then don't miss the opportunity to stay here. Warm, hospitable, and in a terrific location, the Middlebury Inn has the perfect blend of... More

I'm with you...have a drink at the bar and soak up the history! Thank you for noting the differences between our Middlebury Inn and a chain hotel. Yes, we have 'modern' conveniences such as free wireless access throughout the property, but we also have the ambiance that only a 180 year old Inn can provide. Coupled with our location in... More

My husband and I stayed in Middlebury for 1 night in the middle of our 10 day trip to NY. I'm not sure why I chose Middlebury to begin with, but it is a tiny town. Cute, quaint. Definitely, glad we were only there for 1 night. Back to the inn... the room was small, or as they say, charming.... More

We were waylaid in Middlebury for two days during the tropical storm. We were directed from Courtyards as they were hosting many service trucks attempting to dig out the state. The Inn set a disaster rate for all who were stranded unable to go south or east or west during the storm. The hospitality was amazing. The staff must have... More

Well, we've all recovered from our 'Irene' experience at the end of August. The town of Middlebury came through relatively unscathed and we at the Middlebury Inn are now welcoming visitors for our spectacular foliage. Thank you for your kind words and recognizing that our staff was well prepared and in full hospitality mode for our stranded guests. After all,... More

My husband is not a fan of B&Bs and older properties, so I was a bit hesitant booking this for the last 2 nights of our vacation on the way back from Quebec City. We stayed in room 599, a suite on the 2nd floor of the Porter Mansion. It turned out to be quite pleasant....large bathroom with an awesome... More

We stayed at the Middlebury Inn for one night. We had no reservation and got the last room at a discount. The room's regular rate was $229.00 which I felt would have been over the top price-wise. The reception staff were very pleasant, welcoming and most accommodating. The room was in the east wing of the main building on the... More

Thank you for your kind words and we all look forward to your return visit as well. I'm sorry you didn't get to experience our quaint but efficient elevator - it certainly would have been easier than two flights of stairs! And I appreciate you commenting on your two dining experiences at the Middlebury Inn. Our Chef and I are... More
