My extended family stayed here for three nights in July while attending a wedding at the nearby state park. We had three rooms, and all three were very large and well maintained. We loved the setting and the view of the mountains to the east. The window boxes were gorgeous and made relaxing in the adirondack chairs an extra treat.... More

While visiting friends in the area, we had passed by the Marshfield Inn - and wondered WHY we were staying many miles away at the over-priced chain motels located off I-89. This visit, I had the luxury of choice, and elected to stay far away from the crowds. The motel is clean, spacious, and quiet. I needed a place to... More

We stayed here overnight and were glad we did. Stepping into the room was like stepping back in time - but in a nice way. The room was clean and good-sized, the bathroom simple but what more do you need? The view from the window was spectacular, especially in the middle of Indian Summer. There was very little traffic and... More

This propert is very much like a B&B with a motel on the side! The original house was built in the 1880s & serves as the office and dining area. The room did not have air conditioning, but did have two fans & windows that opened. Wifi was excellent, room was clean. Cable TV had lots of channels. No shampoo... More

We selected this placed based on trip advisor reviews. We were not disappointed. The rooms are fairly large, which we appreciated after staying at inns with relatively small rooms. The heat works well. The room and bathroom were very clean. The hotel is next to the road but not so close that cars will wake you up like in other... More

My two sisters and I were on a "kind of reunion" this September. We had three of the motel-style rooms at the Marshfield Inn. The rooms were clean, comfortable, plenty of hot water. Small fridges in each, and one had a microwave, bar sink and utensils. The location is scenic, with views of the lovely mountains. Windowboxes and adirondack style... More

Love this place. Went away for weekend with partner and friends. Couldn't have asked for a nicer spot, better service. Has great breakfast, motel is very well maintained. It is clean, quiet and quaint. The owners are very knowledgeable about the area and the places to eat. The only adverse thing I can say is the cell service is just... More

After visiting several attractions we decided to stop along Route 2 for a place to sleep. We stumbled upon this lovely gem. Right off the highway. Very cute, cozy, comfortable, quiet, well maintained, free WiFi, breakfast is available most mornings. Open year round. Owner very friendly. The Cabot Creamery Tour just up the road. Would recommend this place. Might just... More

The first time I stayed at this motel was over 30 years ago. I have fond memories of eating breakfast with my grandfather and my siblings in the very same breakfast room currently used. I'd swear it even looks exactly the same...and that's a good thing. Simple, clean, functional motel rooms. Great parking. Reasonably priced. Wonderful breakfast. Nearby to anything... More

I really liked this motel. What a wonderful step back in time! To think that we almost stayed at a highly rated “hotel” closer to Montpelier, situated in a parking lot next to a few franchise stores, for nearly twice the price! Marshfield Inn and Motel is a little under 10 miles from downtown Montpelier, and this really isn't much... More

So glad you enjoyed our little 10-room place in the country. We are definitely a motel--not a B&B--but we do enjoy making breakfast and having that time to talk to our guests. We hope you come back another time and see more of what our area has to offer! P.S. We try to replace a mattress or 2 every year... More
