After visiting several attractions we decided to stop along Route 2 for a place to sleep. We stumbled upon this lovely gem. Right off the highway. Very cute, cozy, comfortable, quiet, well maintained, free WiFi, breakfast is available most mornings. Open year round. Owner very friendly. The Cabot Creamery Tour just up the road. Would recommend this place. Might just... More

The first time I stayed at this motel was over 30 years ago. I have fond memories of eating breakfast with my grandfather and my siblings in the very same breakfast room currently used. I'd swear it even looks exactly the same...and that's a good thing. Simple, clean, functional motel rooms. Great parking. Reasonably priced. Wonderful breakfast. Nearby to anything... More

I really liked this motel. What a wonderful step back in time! To think that we almost stayed at a highly rated “hotel” closer to Montpelier, situated in a parking lot next to a few franchise stores, for nearly twice the price! Marshfield Inn and Motel is a little under 10 miles from downtown Montpelier, and this really isn't much... More

So glad you enjoyed our little 10-room place in the country. We are definitely a motel--not a B&B--but we do enjoy making breakfast and having that time to talk to our guests. We hope you come back another time and see more of what our area has to offer! P.S. We try to replace a mattress or 2 every year... More

Very nice small place on Hwy 2 near Barrie, VT. Place was very clean, quite, and cozy. Then owners were very pleasant and made sure we enjoyed our stay. Although we did not stay for the morning breakfast, we saw what was being served and wish that I had now made plans for breakfast with friends down the road

This is really a great place to stay. The owners were super accommodating and friendly. The view is just breathtaking! Beautiful flowers in the back. Super clean. And the price was very reasonable. Very peaceful. Definitely a great place to stay.

This cute little Inn / B&B was perfect for a getaway to northeastern Vermont. It's located right on Route 2 in between Montpelier and St. Johnsbury. The owners were very inviting and courteous, it is pet friendly so we brought our chocolate lab, and there is a beautiful nature trail across the street. The nature trail is definitely worth checking... More

After 32 years of travelling between VT & ME my wife & I decided to try a winter get away at the inn we had passed by so many times. With plenty of land available for snowshoeing and just a short trip by truck to a trail head for snowmobiling we just finished up a wonderful week-end. For us the... More

Placed next to the scenic route between Montpelier and St. Johnsbury, the Marshfield Inn makes for a pleasant and reasonably priced stopover while touring the area. I stayed there on a particularly quiet Sunday night, and slept soundly. Don't forget to order the homemade granola with your breakfast, the best I've ever tasted.

We were looking for a dog friendly establishment relatively close to Dog Mountain. Approx 1/2hr away is this very nice motel. Rooms are old-timey motel but clean and comfortable. Dogs are allowed in two rooms at opposite ends. We were definitely made to feel welcome, fur and all! The best part was the lovely grounds. My dog and I enjoyed... More
