We booked two rooms on a weekend. The host had told us to let him know if we would be eating dinner there early in the day because he fills up for dinner fast. Huh? We were the only ones there for dinner. The food was way over-priced and extremely tiny portions: pasta for $15 dollars was served in a... More

We held my daughter's wedding reception here yesterday and it was magical. Nancie and John were very helpful in making suggestions and worked extremely hard to make this a wonderful event. I appreciated their experience and flexibility in allowing us to decorate the barn on Thursday and Friday. The cocktail hour was on the front lawn of the Inn and... More

I read most of the other reviews, and I respectfully disagree with most of the negative ones. My experience from living in VT for more than 20 years is that big city travelers think they want a country atmosphere but expect big city coddling from small family-run operations, and bristle when they don't receive it, immediately. Try to relax a... More

I stayed at the Inn and was extremely happy with my stay. I was there for a wedding. When I checked in, the host, John, told me his wife was not feeling well and was in the hospital. I didn't know if he could handle the Inn and the wedding. I did not have to worry, because everything was great.... More

My son was married at the colonel Williams Inn this weekend. The location is beautiful, but the service was the worst that I have ever experienced. When we arrived, there were sheets on paper on the counter with our names (spelled wrong) and our room number listed on them. We had to know to look for the papers and then... More

If you read enough reviews about holding your wedding at the Colonel Williams Inn you'll begin to notice a theme. We went into our wedding weekend with our eyes wide open: we knew that the setting was going to be gorgeous and that the service was going to be dismal. Both of these proved to be true. The Inn is... Hosts Nancy & John made us very welcome and gave us a free upgrade on our room....we were the only guests that Monday night but it was something they did not have to do. The inn is in the middle of nowhere and there's no place close to eat. Highly recommend stating you need dinner when you make a reservation;... More

I just returned from what was supposed to be the best day of my daughter's life. If it were not for family and friends and the high spirit of the upcoming nuptials this could have been a disaster. Arrived on Thursday and was not even greeted by anyone. I had to hunt down the owner of the premises. There was... More

we recently attended a wedding on site at Colonel Williams Inn. Wedding only turned out to be excellent because of family and friends NOT anything that the inn keeper did. We found out that the Inn Keeper ordered 66 steak dinners but received only 22, instead of informing the bride and groom of this, he split up the 22 to... More
