I stayed one quick night at the Barnestead in mid-October. I loved my room, the Arlington. It was clean, attractive, soothing green hues with a slight look of its former barn self. The setting was ideal, felt rural, but very close to the lovely town of Manchester. The owners were helpful, yet not overly catering, which was fine with me.... more

I found the pictures on the website and the actual rooms were far from the same. There was no coffee maker in my room or the room occupied by my travel companions. The tiny cheap soap was not sufficient so we inquired at the desk the next day. The owner answered "Waste not - Want not". Warm and friendly??? Not... more

We recently stayed at the Barnstead Inn for 3 nights as a "mini-honeymoon". We just wanted to relax for a few days and that's it. This inn, and room, are great for that. The room looks very rustic and classic, except that everything in it is very clean and very new looking. "Rustic and classic" can also mean "dingy" or... more

My Fiancee and I have stayed at the Barnstead Inn twice during the summer and once on a Ski trip. The area is the ideal combination of the outdoors and luxury. It provides shopping, great restaurants, hiking, skiing, golf, fishing, etc. And everything is within a half hour drive. Besides the fact Manchester is great for weekend getaways, The Barnstead... more

I booked this Inn as it had favourable reviews on Trip Advisor. However all I can say is that I'm glad that we had only booked for one night. The owners were not the open and friendly hosts that we have come to expect from Americans. In fact we had to trek around the garden to find them in order... more

The Barnstead Inn has been our "go to" inn in southern Vermont. It very family friendly and located near many great restaurants and shops in Manchester. We love it and use it as our skiing and skating break as often as we can in the winter. The rooms are clean and spacious - most with refrigerators for left overs and... more

The owners of The Barnstead Inn are so kind and helpful. They made us feel right at home. We came with our 4 month old and the rooms were nice and spacious. Plenty of room for a pack and play and still room to walk around. They were incredibly accommodating too. Since the baby goes to bed around 7 we... more

My parents and my husband and I stayed at the Barnstead Inn for one evening. We had a wonderful experience. It was very clean, warm, quiet, and Neil was very helpful and answered all my tourist questions. It was a perfect stay and we wished we could have stayed there another evening. We even had coffee pots in the room.... more

Property is beautiful, rooms are huge and clean, and location is perfect if you are skiing anywhere in the Bromley/Stratton area. It was a wonderful thing to have free breakfast ready for you in the morning. Owners were friendly, helpful with directions and suggestions for places to eat or rent gear. Price was a steal for a one-night stay in... more

My husband and I have been coming to Manchester for years we always stayed elsewhere, but over the last few visits, this beautiful Inn has been appealing to us.
