My husband and I just stayed at the Barnstead Inn for the second time and we love it! This charming inn is a quick 5-10 minute walk into the beautiful town of Manchester. The inn is clean and quiet and set-up so that even when it's full, you have a complete sense of privacy and peace and quiet. If you... More

This inn is about the most unique place you'll stay at while in Vermont. So much history coupled with modern amenities to make you feel warm and welcome. The innkeepers are extremely friendly and helpful locals who are chock full of tips for dinner recommendations and things to see and do. The rooms are spotless clean. Close enough to walk... More

We were absolutely charmed. Our room was so clean I felt like I was home. Perfect location to Manchester Center and several other little towns. My husbands favorite part was this little outside "Man Cave" I have to admit I also enjoyed sitting in there having a glass of wine and watching the fire pit. You can tell that they... More

In August 2014 I toured with my wife and 2 daughter through Vermont, New York and Maine. We booked The Barnstead Inn after our visit to Acadia Park. After a 7 hours ride we arrived at this dream build fully restored and mordenized 19th century farm. What a place and what a hospitality we entered in our rooms with more... More

We stayed at the Inn this past weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Inn itself is lovely and the accommodations are equally nice. The room was clean and relaxing. The bed was comfortable as well. Neil the host was a pleasure and really wanted us to enjoy ourselves. The price is very reasonable for what you get. We have... More

We stayed in the Arlington Room, which was very clean, but kind of sparse. The Inn is in a lovely setting. We got kind of a weird reception when we arrived. We were given the key, and pointed in the right direction. We are used to the host escorting us to the room, no help was offered with luggage either.... More

Cindy & I are sorry that you were not able to completely enjoy your stay at our home. We love it here and we sure wish that you did as well. We do have much larger rooms as well complete with whirlpool tubs, kitchenettes and fireplaces. Please give the website another look. Come stay another time and we will see... More

I would not choose a different inn when visiting Manchester. It is within walking distance of Manchester Center, which has lots of shopping and restaurants; however, it is in a beautiful setting with wonderful flowers, trees, and a swimming pool. The innkeepers are extraordinarily hospitable. As I told Neil, one of the innkeepers, I slept better during the week I... More

We got a smaller room that turned out to be great. It was very cozy without being too overly decorated with chatchkas and the like that similar hotels/B and B's are known for. The gardens were well done and provided an oasis for us just down the road from Manchester (or Manchester Center...I can't remember). Bathroom was immaculate and the... More

My husband and I have become regular guests here and would not consider any other Inn when traveling to Vermont. Neil is the best and is personable, helpful and always available if needed. We love the Green River room which is very romantic and private. The location is perfect too and close to local hiking, winter activities, shops, restaurants and... More

After spending one unsatisfactory night at another Inn, we found The Barnstead Inn after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. I am happy to say that The Barnstead was everything we had hoped it would be. We stayed in one of their recently renovated suites that had a separate living room with small kitchenette, pull out couch, flatscreen TV and gas... More
