Great place to stay if going skiing or staying in the area, Jim & Phil are great guys to chat with after a day out. The breakfast deal is one you can't beat as you don't have to worry about heading out, finding something to eat in a timely manner if you're in a hurry in the morning. I much... More

Great budget hotel, medium sized rooms, somewhat dark and small with limited seating area. This place tends to met the basic needs, a good nights sleep on semi-firm mattress. The included breakfast was way to much food, well cooked and supplied by friendly staff. The wifi worked, the hot water was ample and overall quiet during the low season. One... More

The place does not look like a 5 star Inn, however, the Owner Jim and his entire staff are the nicest people I have ever met while on vacation. They make sure your needs are met. They know the area well. Phil was absolutely wonderful, I really enjoyed talking with him. Plus Phil and I share the same birthday. Phil... More

Great host (Jim), great location. We did a 5 night stay and could not have asked for more! This is a must return place! The breakfast is the icing on the cake! Very relaxed atmosphere, and we loved Jims stories. Thanks for a great stay Jim Gonzo

I chose this place because it was the cheapest option on hotels.com, but was very pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was very friendly. The big kicker here is the breakfast- really top notch pancakes included in the room rate. It is a small, warm place that I would recommend to anyone.

Well, The Butternut is not luxurious or probably not known for having all the amenities, but one thing we felt was early good, was the customer service. We stayed for a weekend skiing, and every time we were at the Inn or turned around...Jim (the owner) was there to help! The room was sufficient and was fairly basic. The breakfast... More

This is a very late entry (my husband and I stayed here a year ago in March - and I'm a procrastinator). My husband and I were arriving late in the evening to the Butternut, and there was a massive snow storm upon us...the car we had rented from the airport had "summer" tires, and needless to say we got... I just returned from a long weekend stay with a friend at the Butternut Inn & Pancake House in Killington, VT. The inn is conveniently located right off the access road, minutes from the mountain and free breakfast is provided every day of your stay. Jim and his staff were very friendly and helpful with everything from ski rentals, to... More

During the extreme storms here in the North East we were unable to make it to the hotel. In calling and canceling our reservation we were told we would only be charged for one night. We were charged for the entire stay. I called and the man on the other end, who stated he was the owner/operator of the hotel... More

This place was amazing! Jim, the owner, was the nicest guy, who helped us out wherever he could. The free shuttle service of the hotel is out of this world, Mike and Jim took us to the slopes, restaurants and anywhere else we needed to go, and even gave us two rides to Rutland! The breakfast was amazing, waking up... More
