We came for a 3 day weekend. Like someone else mentioned, this is not a 5 star hotel, but if you are looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay in Killington at a reasonable price, this is it! Our room had comfortable beds and was spacious enough for our needs. Jim the owner is very pleasant to talk to,... More

When we arrived on a Thursday afternoon, I have to say I was a bit concerned and wondered what did my husband get us into. The outside structure definitely is in some need of TLC. Once inside, we were greeted by Jim the owner......which we quickly learned is a jack of all trades which explained his attire upon arrival that... More

We came to ski/skate/eat and not spend too much time in our rooms. The Butternut Inn is a work in progress, that's true, but we had comfortable beds, great breakfasts, and a attentive, accommodating host in Jim. While it may not be a 5 star resort, there are obvious improvements being made and the host more than made up for... More

So, true, this is not a five star hotel, but hey, we're here to ski. If you come to Killington to ski, and you're on a budget, look no further. We came here on a mother/daughter ski trip and felt that it was a great deal. Jim, the owner, was accommodating with advice on where to eat and taking us... More

Very small place. Not even a chair to sit in your room. TV is very small but ok. I can't seem to close or open the lock of door leading to outside and so have to go through lobby to get to room. Though parking is not exactly right at your door and the porch is never salted so extremely... More

Me and my girlfriend (both in our early 20's) stayed here for 3 nights while skiing/riding at Killington mountain. We had an excellent experience. We came early in the season during a year with virtually no snow, and as such were the soul occupants of the inn for the entirety of our stay, so our experience may be a bit... More

We were pleasantly surprised to find the Butternut at Killington this year. We were not looking to stay at a fancy hotel and if you go there expecting anything like a Marriot or a Hilton, you will be disappointed but we only wanted a clean room to sleep in for our family, warm showers and a breakfast to start our... The Butternut made a very poor first impression when we first pulled in and saw the flaking paint and siding. In addition, the narrow width of the driveway made it difficult to park the car. Our room, while having a nice view of the mountains, was very plain and the two beds were no more than mattresses on wooden frames.... More

Stephen Thanks for your review. I appreciate that you point out that your wife sleeping in her own separate bed had a great night sleep yet you on the other hand felt that the exact same mattress was soft to your liking. It does go to prove Beds are a tricky preference for a business like us to make sure... More

Beautiful location over looking the mountains. The staff is all wonderful and personable. The pancakes were the best I have ever had. However the room was far below standards. Dog hair all over one comforter, chocolate on the other. Stains on the counter top, no alarm clock, sticky stains on another surface. Door had evidence of what looked to be... More

Darlene Thank you for the review. I'm sitting here saying to myself you got to be kidding me. Your husband walks in to our Inn unannounced for a early check-in on a Sunday check-in. I stated we were not ready yet due to the time is not yet check in time yet. He says could we just put our stuff... More

Butternut is normally closed for the season but reopens specifically for this weekend and is more affordable than the other accommodation options. It had everything we needed w a great central location to all stages to boot: wifi, clean rooms, fridge in each room, and a very hearty and filling breakfast which was surprisingly included with the three night rate....
