Where no frills means spotlessly clean, rational, uncluttered, and charming. Bare wood floors with wide planks, each room different with everything you need and nothing more. Rarely saw our host but he was around and welcoming -- he just trusted and allowed us to do what we wanted to be comfortable. Very nice hot tub (open air) which is a... More

Our family stayed for a week during Christmas break. This is our second stay here as we stayed at the Inn the summer of 2013 as well. The Inn had maintained its charm which was a relief. All the sentiments stated in the reviews many times are true - there is convenient eating and house is cozy. A few notes... More

We had a great visit. The Inn had everything we needed...a bar, a restaurant and a place to grab breakfast. It was very close to smugglers notch resort. I would definitely stay there again! The only negative thing was the inn was right next to a busy road so there was some traffic noise at night.

This is an old inn but comfortable. The living room was a great place for our group to sit back and enjoy a glass of wine before going to dinner. We were in an area where we could walk to breakfast or lunch. The bakery wasn't open for breakfast either day that we were there. The stores in the village... More

We booked a stay at Smuggler's Notch Inn because it seemed like the perfect location for our skiing trip. Smuggler's Notch Mountain offers superb skiing and is close to Stowe and Jays Peaks where we visited as well. This little inn is located in the heart of it all. There were several Maple Syrup Factories up the road we were... More

My husband and I got away for a long weekend and since the flights were expensive we wanted lodging that was more reasonable than the big resorts. This fit the bill-our room was clean and comfortable. The host responded quickly when we rang the bill and was pleasant if not overly informative about the area. It's a reasonable drive-about 20... It was a decent value and suited our needs, as we primarily needed a "base camp". The little town of Jeffersonville and the Smuggler's Notch Inn were full of life during the days we stayed, as the town was preparing for their Annual 4th of July Parade. The Inn, located on the main road in Jeff, which also provides access... More

It all started with no one answering the phone...repeatedly. A local told us they never answer the phone and that we should go over there...if no one was at the desk, then go to the pub and ask there. Well, no one was at the desk, rang the bell three times (no answer), went to the pub (outside and down... More

We seriously regret that we were not able to meet your expectations and are constantly looking on ways we can improve. We will take your difficulty in locating an innkeeper to heart and will see if there are other ways that might make it easier to track down the innkeeper on duty (call cell etc.). We strive to be at... More

This inn is well over 100 years old. The last real renovation was 2004. The floors are slanted and pitch you this way and that.... but that's what you stay in a charming, 100+ year old inn for. There is a large fireplace in the main room as you come in the front door. It used to be "real", now... More

The building is over 100yrs old, so there are little things that at first were surrising... the floor isn't really level, and the walls are thin. But the place is warm (temperature... as we were there in February, but also in atmosphere... very cozy, like you are at your grandma's house). The beds were great! Pillow top perfection... they spent... More
