We stayed at this place by accident, since our other place didn't work out. We are so happy about this. It's a great surprise what's behind those walls! Our (visiting) grandchildren have been excited to find Dinosaurs in closets, an organ to play, and beds in the class rooms. Friendly, clean, and comfy rooms, breakfasts to die for, fresh muffins,... We stayed in the Green Room for a lovely over-nighter. We would have loved to have taken up Carol's offer of fresh veggies from her garden for a salad but we ran out of time. We had a comfortable evening in our room, great wifi, lovely bathroom and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast & conversation in the morning. Easy bike... More

Myself and four friends brought my sister to Isle la Motte for a bachelorette overnight. All six of us slept in the delightful "school room" with had more than enough room for us, all in separate beds. Carol couldn't have been more accommodating and we truly felt at home hanging out in the back yard and enjoying a wonderful breakfast... More

My husband and I were in Isle La Motte to play music at Fiske Farm, and our stay with Carol at the Old Schoolhouse was perfectly delightful. The schoolhouse is very charming and homey; we had a comfortable sleep and woke to a wonderful breakfast with Carol and the other guests, and wound up visiting for a while, trading stories... More

A beautiful and welcoming hostel close to St-Ann Shrine. Very clean, spacious and with air conditionning. Doesn't take credit cards. Carol, the owner/hostess is so nice. You will love her! She made us a fresh salad with the veggies from her garden just before we went to the only opened restaurant on the island (that pizza restaurant close at 8:00... More

We stayed at the Old Schoolhouse for one night. What a nice and welcoming place. We had dinner in the beautiful backyard and slept in the unforgettable classroom. Carol is the best hostess. She prepared a very good salad for us, and at breakfast, we had a long chat. You absolutely have to live this experience, a place not to... More

This is a wonderful hostel converted from an old schoolhouse and the dorm rooms still have the chalkboards where you can leave messages for other travelers or just leave a thought for the general public. Your owner\hostess is Carol and I cannot say enough about her. She even made us a salad from the freshly picked greens from her garden!... More

We stayed with Carol after biking up. She is a ton of fun to chat with, and gave us some great fresh greens from the garden! In the morning there were fresh scones and coffee and fresh berries from the yard. What more could I want?

After a long rainy day of biking arriving at the school house was a very welcome surprise. Carole treats you like you belong. Very unique experience, a highlight of our trip. From the 4 tired Canadian ladies, the Champlain Chicks!
