We arrived at about 9pm on a snowy December night, after a long drive, to a beautifully decorated and brightly lit mansion with holiday wreaths in the windows. The innkeeper was welcoming and the mansion itself was impressive but not imposing. The all-around atmosphere was very cozy and warm. Our room, the William Shakespeare, had a marble fireplace and a... More

Attention travellers - there is actually a small petting zoo inside this otherwise opulent looking B&B! Upon arrival, I was first greeted by a ferret at the front door. I thought it was a bit quirky and odd, but I was willing to overcome it when I thought it was just one ferret. I later realized there was a dog,... More

Of the five different locations we stayed in our ten days of travel through New England this was my favorite place to stay. The mansion is beautiful. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The furnishings are in good condition. The bed was very comfortable and even though our room was in the front of the house we found it to... More

My husband and I stayed at the inn this past weekend. The inn is a perfect place to relax and unwind. Food is excellent. Service and hospitality was more than we could have hoped for. We arrived late and were welcomed by the innkeepers son. Very accommodating family. We will be going back soon.

Our group fairly overran the Inn during the first weekend in August. It included a group of rambunctious teens and pre-teens and parents in town for an equestrian weekend. Our room was clean and well appointed. Great water pressure in the shower even though we were on the third floor. The mattress was heavenly, and offered the best sleep I've... More

Wonderful place to stay we were made very welcome. We love going to see old mansion houses from the gilded age and this allows you to stay in one. Most of the original finishes are intact and the rooms are amazing. The breakfast is all homemade and baking is straight out of the oven. We were made extremely welcome would... More

We stayed at the Marble Mansion for one night. They greated us warmly, got us set up and off to a wonderful restaurant for supper. The room was excellent and the breakfast was amazing. The lemon scones were to die for!!! I would recommend this location to anyone.

Thank you for the great comments about the lemon scones! They are one of my favorites as well! Next time you come, ask for the raspberry coffee cake. It is a new addition that is even better! And we always use fresh raspberries! Please let us know what we can do to earn that "5th star" ! More

Stayed here in July for three days for a family wedding we were attending. Great charm and Sharon and Theresa were exceptional hosts. My kids are allergic to all dairy products and they went above and beyond to feed us the most delicious breakfast ever. The raspberry coffee cake (made with rice milk) was so good and the egg frittata... More

Thank you for the great comments about our breakfast. Our recipes have many variations to accommodate various vegan and allergic conditions. I actually prefer the fritata with goat cheese. And the raspberry coffee cake is a new addition that is to die for! Please let us know what we can do to earn that "5th star" ! More

My family and I stayed at the Marble Mansion recently, and we were very impressed. The Inn is right across from the town green, It was very easy to find. The mansion echoes similarities of many of the large homes in Newport, RI, near the cliff walk. Large, 12 foot ceilings with original trim and all the detail we've come... More

Thank you for your wonderful review! We have endeavored to create a unique restful experience in each room based on the character of the room. And we are trying to improve each room constantly. We just repainted the Tolkien room's trim and it has improved the character immensely compared to the previous pink. And we just learned an ironic connection... More

Photos don't do justice to the beautiful and unusual Marble Mansion Inn! The setting is lovely - just on the town green, and a short and pleasant walk to a very nice restaurant. The interior is beautifully appointed - with many original fixtures (like chandeliers) intact. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, with fresh crisp linens (and towels in the bath).... More

Thank you very much for your nice compliments. When we started the Inn we placed high priority on getting superior beds and linens. We also go to great lengths to ensure a unique dining experience unlike typical B&B fare. Regarding your suggestion for updating the bathroom, it is ironic, since right after you left we renovated the bathroom with new... More
