There was a small misunderstanding with the booking, which turned out to be my doing. The staff was patient and attentive and did what they could to make things right. In fact, they were almost too helpful. Essex Junction is a few miles away, and the hotel is not really near anything, but they do what they can to have... More

Love heading up there! Dog friendly, near the best Garden shop(Gardener's Supply Co) and the classes at the cooking academy are fun and educational. Downfalls: they were informed I would be bringing a dog and had mentioned that 24 hr notice needed so items would be in the room for the dog....did that and nothing was there. Had a late... More

Spent the past weekend (March 13-16) at the Resort and it was a blast! The food was good, the room was clean and staff was helpful. Check in was easy and the staff that was responsible for cleaning the rooms, were effective and polite given they had to clean around us one of the days. Room service folks were always... More

My wife and I spent a weekend here and generally enjoyed our stay in the Burlington area. Just 10 minutes or less from the friendly downtown menagerie of restaurants and pubs, the Essex exudes a classy but simple look. With several buildings of overnight rooms, banquet rooms, a cozy tavern and trendy little dining room, this resort-spa offers a nice... More

I spent a fun, relaxing weekend at the Essex for a family gathering in March. I stayed in a one-bedroom suite and was impressed by all the thoughtful touches to make the experience a pleasant one: a Hearthstone gas stove to gather around; a large whirlpool tub; impossibly plush and soft spa robes hanging in the bathroom; a choice of... Have stayed at The Essex (through its name changes) over a dozen times in the past 6 or 7 years. They say the first time is always the best, and this remains true for me. The first time we stayed the halls were scented of lavender, we awoke to the smell of baking bread. We had a room with a... More

We visited on 28th Feb, stayed for one night and two days. The ambience is superb. The lady at the reception didn't allow us to check in before 3pm but suggested a place for shopping nearby to pass the time. There are outlets within just 2 mins of drive: GH Bass, jockey,Nike, Brooks Brothers and even a grocery store. So... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our "babymoon" at the Essex. Room: We had a room in the main building with a fireplace. It was peaceful, quite and comfortable. Sure there was normal wear and tear on some of the furniture but that's to be expected for the age of the property. Overall the room was clean. Exercise Room: The equipment was plentiful... More

We enjoyed an overnight stay, dinner and cooking class at this beautiful inn. We did not use the spa but our friends who did said it was excellent. The cooking class was informative, fun and delicious. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. We will be back soon!
