Beautiful place to stay. The staff and service was excellent!!! We used the shuttle service for out daily travel needs and all the drivers were excellent!!! The restaurants were great and the smaller restaurant had nightly specials. The location was just a short drive to Burlington Would stay here again.

I went to the Essex for an event. My room was huge but the bathroom was tiny. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Housekeeping did not do a spectacular job. When I arrived in the room, there was hair in the sink and on the towels in the bathroom. The pad of paper on the nightstand had a coffee... More

Lovely resort, very nice for a weekend getaway. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient. Our room was large with a queen bed and an electric fireplace. This is considered an upgrade from a basic room so the fact that it didn't have a king-size bed was surprising. The decor was comfortably upscale and the room & bath immaculate.... More

We recently spent a weekend at the Essex Culinary Resort and Spa. It was a terrific experience! The staff was eager to accommodate our needs and went out of their way to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. The room was large and well appointed. We ate at both restaurants and the food was excellent! We enjoyed the... More

This place is an awful lot of fun: great food, good cooking classes, many activities in close proximity, comfortable, if a bit sprawling accommodations. We get a room a couple of times a year for a stay-cation. There isn't much to recommend Essex, but Burlington and skiing are both close enough, and the fun of the the Essex resort is... More

The resort is nice. The service is friendly. The spa is excellent. We have stayed here several times a year, all seasons. We keep coming back. It's a bit of a drive to downtown Burlington but great if you have kids and/or pets.

Wow. I have travelled the world and this is seriously my new favorite hotel. I came to Vermont to pick up my new puppy, and booked this hotel last minute without knowing anything about it. This place is sprinkled with magic fairy dust. First of all, the entrance is like a pâtisserie. Brightly lit scones and pastries line the entrance... More

My husband and I went away for our one year wedding anniversary and stayed at The Essex, Vermont's Culinary Resort & Spa. We had a very nice stay. We had a fireplace in our room. We went to the Game Room and played ping-pong over the weekend. We also got a Couples' Massage at the spa. The one thing that... More

I found The Essex on groupon and purchased the deal for my boyfriend for Christmas. He loves to cook, and the two of us greatly enjoyed our Italian Winter class with Chef Anthony Spine! The bartender let us try some new drinks she was testing out, and we took advantage of the margarita special. The Spa was phenomenal, and extremely relaxing.... More

Stayed 2 nights in January, booked through Groupon. The room was great! My boyfriend and I were very impressed, especially after some of the negative reviews on here! We had a queen bed room with full kitchen, nice bath, and little sitting area with lovely gas stove and flat screen TV. This room was in the "Manor" part of the... More
