My sister gave me a gift certificate to Dorset Inn, knowing it was pet friendly. Dorset Inn was the first B&B my 18 month old Cocker Spaniel stayed. The entire staff couldn't have been more gracious and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, and the black bean burger with sweet potato fries in the tavern were phenomenal. I only wish I... More

This was a weekend getaway and either one of us new anything about the Inn or area, and what a surprise we got! The inn is the oldest continuing one in Vermont and you would never know it because it is in GREAT shape the rooms the dining areas and the tavern and the common rooms are BEAUTIFUL The breakfast... So not our crowd! Food was ok and over priced! The servings were mediocre, chicken pot pie, the chicken was in the form of a broth. Waitress "Noonie" was entertaining, but felt a little stuffy. Nothing to make us want to return, it was my daughter's birthday dinner, would not make it a birthday tradition. Not intended for the local... More

We have stayed at many a hotel and/or bed and breakfasts in Vermont but since we found the Dorset we have been returning time and again. It's difficult to explain what makes a great place to stay-it might be the comfortable, relaxing fireplace room next to the ultra laidback restaurant/bar area, the dog friendly folks who work there and appreciate... My fiance and I just returned from a fabulous weekend at the Dorset Inn. We purchased a package online and had read the glowing reviews. We were really excited to see what all of the buzz was about. The Dorset Inn did not dissapoint. Nestled in the mountains, Dorset is an exquisite and pristine small town. We went during a... More

My wife and I are big skiers always looking for nice places to stay. We hit Pay Dirt with the wonderful Dorset Inn. This is everything you hope for in a cozy Vermont Inn. Excellent food, and a perfect bar. They even let us stay in their wonderful pet friendly room with our pup Zeppelin. And, since we are skiers,... More

Our children gave us a getaway for Christmas to the Dorset Inn. Due to the horrible parade of storms in Boston this winter we were unable to travel the 3.5 hours to the inn until March. It was worth every minute of the pretty drive!!!! The historic village of Dorset set the tone with the quaint white and green homes... More

My husband and I have stayed at the Dorset Inn before and the experience is always excellent. The staff truly love their jobs and it shows in their work. The tavern is the best place to enjoy a cocktail by the fireplace. We always eat in the tavern and the food is always exquisite. We already have our next stay... More

We have stayed there many times before moving to the area, and loved it. The location is quiet and very close to hiking, skiing, shopping in Manchester, or whatever you like to do. They were gay-friendly and best of all, the food was AMAZING. Breakfast is included, and we ate outside in the summer. We still have dinner there about... More

The Dorset Inn is an amazing experience. Love the location, close to skiing, hiking, swimming the quary, shopping, etc... . Year round fun to be had. I think it is more suitable for couples or adults travelling but if you have kids, check out their sister property, Barrows House as there are more units which can hold families. The breakfast... Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review! We are delighted you've had time to enjoy both properties -- there truly is something for everyone! Between Barrows House's unique layout with separate cottages and The Dorset Inn's more traditional setup, we truly delight in catering to all of our guest needs. More
