My family and I have made Applewood the only place for our Vermont visits. Having lived many years in VT it always feels like I am returning home and to have the quality, care and attention that Ralph and Nancy give us on each of our return visits makes coming back easy. Being a successful innkeeper takes a special person... More

We have stayed at the Applewood Manor over the past several years and the owners Ralph & Nancy just make the Inn so welcoming and accommodating. The place is immaculate and rooms are very spacious and decorated to make you feel you are in a peaceful place!

My daughter and I spent the night of her son's birthday at the Applewood Manor. Nancy and Ralph made us feel right at home! We used the living room for the present opening and the dinning room for the birthday cake! The grandson is a Castleton student and having such a home spot for his special day was wonderful! Oh... My daughter and I stayed at Applewood Manor after visiting Castleton College. We stayed in the room with two twin beds, and it was lovely. The mattresses and linens were so comfortable, and we slept perfectly! Nancy and Ralph were wonderful hosts, and their home and the surrounding property is very beautiful. All in all, we had a incredible experience.

Have visited the lovely Applewood Manor with several friends for a few years now. After the first lovely visit, we knew it was worth a "do over" and have returned a couple more times. We usually go when we are seeing a show in nearby Rutland at the Paramount Theater. Nancy and Ralph are extremely gracious hosts; the rooms are... More

Stayed overnight while exploring Vermont on a getaway weekend. The Applewood Manor is a beautiful home with history back to the late 1700's. The rooms were luxuriously appointed and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We're getting a set of the same sheets for our home! Everything was spotless. Breakfast was delicious with a fire in the fireplace to enhance it... More

I have just spent two weeks with Nancy and Ralph at Applewood Manor. I chose it because of it's location near Green Mountain College. However, I realized in the TWO WEEKS I stayed there that there is plenty to do in the area. I visited great Vermont towns, skied Killington and Okemo, snowshoed on and around the property, and ate... What a lovely B&B remote enough to guarantee a restful and relaxing stay yet close enough to some great restaurants and ski lodges. The rooms are beautiful and the bed was like a dream. Breakfast was a delicious indulgence enhanced by the beautiful hearth fireplace and top notch service. We felt like we were amongst good friends from the time... More

We brought our 17 year old son and his friend to Castleton Vt for Castleton college open house. We stayed at the Appleton Manor B & B. The rooms were all beautiful. So clean, well appointed, fresh gorgeous linens and large beautiful bathroom. Just perfect. So warm and welcoming. The antique's were exquisite. Breakfast was delicious and our hosts, Nancy... More

Our stay was just about as perfect as possible. Room and bed were very comfortable. Had two lounge chairs. Very tastefully decorated (only two teddy bears in the room), as was the whole house. Very comfortable and inviting lounge and library rooms. Tea and coffee are available any time and there is a small fridge that guests can use. Breakfasts... More
