Jane is a wonderful innkeeper and very quick to help with information and reservations when asked. Her breakfasts are terrific and she is always most welcoming. The property itself is charming and in a beautiful setting. It is, however, in need of some long awaited maintenance and upkeep. All of the pieces are there for a memorable and enjoyable B&B... More

With a freshman at Norwich university we are excited to find this inn for our family of five. This is where we will stay for the next 4 years while visiting Norwich. Perfect setting, great food, clean, and Jane is great!!!! We initially stayed at local hotels, but had very bad experiences. The inn is only 10ish minutes from Norwich.

First, Doc and I are not what we consider Inn or B&B seasoned travellers, however we had a very pleasant experience here. Jane is a wonderful Innkeeper, informative, considerate, and accommodating, as well as a great cook. Our third floor room was large, comfortable, with a private bath. As a previous commenter mentioned, the inn is truly like staying at... More

My husband and I stayed at the Green Trails Inn for the Norwich University Residency week. I have to say, Ms. Jane is an absolutely wonderful hostess and catered to us in every way possible. She even made us breakfast an hour earlier than normal because my husband had classes to attend every day. Oh and the breakfast, I need... More

My three sisters and I stayed four nights in the main house of the Inn while visiting family in the area. The rooms and beds were very comfortable. Jane made the stay memorable with her personal attention, travel tips, knowledge of the area, and AMAZING breakfasts. Thank you Jane!

I've never stayed in a B&B and I am afraid to stay in one again, because Jane's made such an impression I don't think anyone else could match it!. What a sweetheart.! She took care of us from the minute we arrived like we were guest in her home and immediately saw to our needs. Her home and the rooms... More

Although the innkeeper was very nice, when we arrived there were large holes in the screen windows, and the bathroom shower was not very clean. The outside screen door stayed open and did not close. It appeared that the inn was somewhat in disrepair. However, we were there in early May and it is possible that the spring clean-up had... More

I was dismayed that these guests did not stay. They arrived early --before noon. I was airing out their room, which had a lake view, flowers, vintage linens--and because they were family members, and might not want to share a bed, I gave them an extra room and bathroom at no extra charge. They settled in before heading for a... More

All the reasons one stays in a Bed and Breakfast are why we stay at the Greentrails Inn. It's the perfect New England home, with old fashioned charm and hospitality. Brookfield is a lovely little town. A car passes once an hour. Most likely, it will be someone Jane knows. You can walk to the river, over the floating bridge,... More

Magical, wonderful, delicious, restful, peaceful, and room for family , friends, and spacious Fork Shop (on the property) for spending precious time with the bride and groom. Jane is a fantastic hostess, Inn keeper, cook, area resource, and purveyor of comfort and culinary treats. From the moment we arrived until we left, she made sure we were comfortable, cared for,... My daughter and I came to Brookfield for my sister's wedding, andenjoyed a peaceful night at the inn. Jane greeted us in the evening with freshly made gingerbread and juice, and showed us to our room...It was spacious and beautiful. It had a king-size bed with a lovely quilt, 2 comfortable rocking chairs, a private bathroom, and we were lulled... More
