Great location along the main street and near the river. Enjoyed the warm art deco decor. Some plush aspects mixed with industrial elements, i.e. colorfully painted exposed pipes. This is in a theater that remains active so the movie theme permeates throughout in a way that isn't too overplayed. Traditional amenities are on the spare side, i.e. small flat screen... More

We stayed a couple of nights here and found the rooms comfortable enough. Breakfast was pretty basic and the building rather hard edged but that is its architectural style however it was the drear purple colour of my room that continues to haunt me! The theatre space the hotel is attached to is great and really worth a visit. Staff... More

My sister and I met here for a girls night in late October. We had a great time. The hotel itself is different than most other hotels I have where I have stayed. The hotel and the rooms are pretty small but they are very comfortable and have a lot of character. The front desk staff were very nice and... More

This corner hotel (with on-site parking) is ideally located in Brattleboro, easily one of the most walkable and architecturally interesting destinations in Vermont. Built in the 1930s with Art Deco's Egyptian motifs, the hotel rooms sport vintage but working fixtures, terrazzo bathroom floors, comfortable beds and spare furnishings. Continental breakfast had good coffee. Stayed here because I was attending a... More

We enjoyed our stay at this middle-aged, characterful and slightly quaint hotel, situated right in the heart of the town, and ideally-placed for anyone arriving in Brattleboro by Amtrak on the "Vermonter". Our room was spotless, well-furnished and spacious, and had a superb view across the Connecticut River to an imposing hillside. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. The... More

When spending a minimum of $140 a night for a room without a view, I expect a little bit more... I have never stayed in a hotel/theater before, so that was very cool. It is historic, and it is "nice" and it "quaint" to degree. The hotel staff was very nice and friendly. The lobby was very nice, the adjoining... More

Expect a warm welcome in this unusual hotel attached to a theatre. This is a architectural gem in which you must expect old fixtures and fittings that are in keeping with the period. Nevertheless, it is right in the centre of downtown and offers you the chance to go to the movies in your PJs and slippers. Highly recommended as... More

We've stayed in different hotels in the area and on this trip decided to stay near the center of town and experience the night life (translation: be able to drink and not have to drive). The rooms are large and clean..The only caveat is that it gets noisy especially on a Friday night. If you're especially sensitive to noise, you... More

The Latchis is really the only good choice for lodging in Brattleboro. Right downtown, everything within walking distance. There is a movie theater next door. All Art Deco style. Modest prices except for Autumn leaf season. All other hotels around are 2 miles or more away.

We had seen all the good reviews of the Latchis, but I have to say that we did not anticipate the great service and the generosity of the staff. The view from our king suite was also unexpectedly breathtaking. The complimentary DVD players for guests are a great amenity, and the refrigerator in the room is also very convenient. Brattleboro...
