I reserved a room at the Black Bear Inn on the internet, at a very attractive price, for myself and a friend for one night. The check in was as smooth as could be with all questions answered. The room was large, clean and well equipped. The only negative features of the room were a noisy heating system and bathroom... More

We were excited to stay at the Black Bear Inn. We have small dogs, and we upgraded and booked a "pet-friendly" room. Unfortunately, our room was severely lacking. The website said that the category of rooms we booked were all located on the second floor. However, when I called the inn before our trip to confirm, they never mentioned that... More

Nice little out of the way place. Pretty cheap, book exchange, cute bears in each room. Loved the breakfast they went all out, I mean quality food, not just the typical American piles of fat and grease.

We had a great weekend for a family event at the black bear Inn this September 2013. Jill and Brian and the whole staff are very courteous and attentive. The area is gorgeous and the inn is just what you would expect quant and rustic but with a few twists...hot tubs in most rooms and an excellent restaurant with a... More

The inn is a little out of the way. I chose the Inn as it was inexpensive and somewhat close to Burlington, where we spent all of our time, but its about 25 mins from Burlington up a steep road. The breakfast was very good, eggs, homefries, sausage and toast. The room was clean but small. They charge extra for... More

Yes, you are reading it right - I came to this inn that many years ago (in my mind - I'm still only 21 <lol>). My DH had booked a few nights online for our anniversary celebrations a day before we left from a B&B in The Neck (Marblehead) that we'd been staying at for a few nights prior. I... More

Before we arrived we received a call from Jill to let us know the dining room wouldn't be open. The night guy Dave was very helpful and had good suggestions for nearby restaurants. The inn is a nice place that is fairly remote but still has a fair amount of traffic on its roadway. I would suggest earplugs or a... More

My family was looking forward to getting away for a couple of nights and found that Living Social had a coupon for us to use. We were very disappointed in the Black Bear Inn. We occupied two rooms, both of which were very musty smelling. Even though it was cool outside in August, we had to keep fans on to... More

My husband and I stayed at the Black Bear Inn last week on our way to NH. We had a nice room with a beautiful view of the mountains. The Innkeepers were really friendly and gave us some great ideas on where to stop along the way to our next destination. We had dinner there and it was excellent and... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Black Bear Inn this past weekend. Since we had our dog with us, I'm sure we weren't put in the Inn's best room (I'm just happy they take dogs!). Still, the accommocations were just fine. The innkeepers were very kind and attentive. It was great to have the swimming pool and hot tub... More

We are very glad that our guests enjoyed their weekend here! (And that we were able to tempt them with Chef Brian’s fresh blueberry maple pie!). Our Inn has eight different room types, with each at a different price based on size and amenities. All of them have been carefully decorated and cared for no matter if they are pet-friendly,...
