The owners were charming, friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed a very tasty breakfast in their cafe, especially the apple and blueberry pancakes. The prices were great and we were full and ready to start our day after the breakfast! This is the third time that my family and I have stayed at the Apple Valley Inn in Bennington. No doubt there are nicer (fancier!) places, but this one is fine, and for about $60 a night, definitely the best value I've found in the area. The couple who run this motel are the friendliest folk, without a doubt, but the name of this place evokes a quaint charm that its rooms clearly lack. For sixty dollars we stayed in a dank room swarming with flies, although it was great fun stalking and smacking them with a pair of socks. The TV regularly popped sharply and... more

Having nothing but the name, web information and 1 web review on this hotel, we took a chance and tried it. I'm glad we did. The inn is set back from Route 7, and stands alone in the middle of a grassy knoll away from the other motels and the tourist area of the town. What we liked most about... more
