I've stayed here many times, from the early 90's until my most recent stay in2007. Unless the place has changed hands since then, I found the owner to be extremely kind and friendly - he always welcomed me by my first name and gave me one of the best rooms in the back. Although the rooms are rather small, I... more

We stayed here recently after a disastrous stay at an "upscale" B&B in nearby Lenox, MA . We preferred this motel to the previous dowdy, very expensive B&B since the Kirkside appeared clean, comfortably furnished, and lacking in pretense (that's for sure!). While we had a generally good experience, I would advise others to pay attention to the less than... more

I loved the location, my room was great and Billy bent over backwards to make sure I was comfortable. I highly recommend staying at the Kirkside when visiting Bennington. The wireless connection was a bonus! more

We have stayed at this motel before because of its proximity to town and reasonable price. In the past we found it to be adequate. This stay, however, was so bad that we will never return. Below are the reasons why... 1. Mold. The ceiling in the bathroom was covered with mold. I brought this to the owner's attention and... more

Although touted as remodeled, the room was rather shabby, the furniture and fixtures uncoordinated, rather "tired" looking. The motel is not new, and I discerned a musty odor upon opening the door. Service does not seem to be a focus for the proprietor, who, when asked to provide a wake-up call quipped: "do you see that alarm clock near the... more

I found the motel on the internet and emailed a question. Within a few minutes I recieved a phone call with the answers and I booked my room. To me the price was low, the room was smaller than a Holiday Inn, but big enough. The furnishings were antique looking and of good quality. There was comfortable space for a... more

Our stay at this property was ok. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The bed was king size, and the room was larger than we expected. The bathroom needed some attention, though. Some tiles in the shower were loose and a little moldy. Even though we paid only $64, I doubt we'd stay there again because of the shower. more

My wife and I stayed at this hotel, the room was very small and smelled of mold. We asked to be moved to another room and they refused. We went to take our shower and there was no hot water, asked again for another room and they refused saying someone would come and fix the water, but no one ever came.We... more

My wife and I along with another couple stayed here on our New England motorcycle trip. We found the accomodations very clean. The rooms were a bit small, but big enough for us. The motel location is great also. There any many restaurants and bars within walking distance. We paid $75 for our room and felt that we received fair... more

My wife and I stayed here in July 2005 and it was a nightmare!! First - the tourist bureau in town recommended this place - they must be getting a kickback because the owner (man) was a pig - not in attire but in attitude. Yes the place was clean (as the Tourist Bureau said it'd be) but there's a... more
