I saw some of the bad reviews but my wife and I stayed here 12 years ago and were comfortable and happy then, so we gave it another shot. the first thing i did when i got here was take a shower, the shower worked just fine, and the water pressure was good, so I got nice and clean. The... More

My wife & I stayed here for one night whilst on a road trip in July 2013, we had not planned to stay in Vernal but we were too tired to drive any further. This is an old school motel, reasonably priced ($77 inc tax) in the centre of town with parking right outside your door. The room was large,... More

Lots of other reviews said this place was awful but I thought it was absolutely fine, maybe the fittings have been updated recently. Comfortable bed, large room, $69 for a Friday night. The downsides were having to keep logging back into the Internet and there was a water leak so no water for showers etc but that wasn't the motels... More

broken drywall, carpet that can trip guests, filthy furniture, bugs in light fixture, door that did not seal letting in wind and noise, no breakfast, i brought a can of bug spray to kill the 20 flies in the room. when i told the clerk at check out I did not get an apology.

We had been camping for a few days so the motel seemed luxurious. The room was large and had a fridge and microwave. The bathroom was clean. The receptionist was helpful and friendly and we had a lovely swim in the pool to cool off. They need to replace the armchair though, I nearly fell through it. Not fancy but... More

AKA, the Weston Lamplighter Motel. Since we live a day's drive from Vernal, I'll have to admit that we've stayed here twice on our way south to thaw out in the spring. But when I walk in, BIG SIGH, my mind flashes-back to our early marriage, tight budget days. Don't get me wrong, I still have a thrifty gene for... More

Worst hotel during our 4 week USA trip. High rates. Low value. 30 yr. old rooms / furnishing / sanitary equipment. Dimly and mouldy. Next time we will better sleep in the car. Everything else was booked when we came into Vernal around 8 pm at night. The only other option was the TravelLodge, which was obviously the worst place in town. The staff are friendly, and pets are allowed, but the rooms are very old, 70's-feel, and didn't feel very clean. I didn't see any obvious grime, but the tile, carpet and... More

As a family of six, it can be a little harder to find a room with less than a week's notice, especially in Vernal, apparently. We tried all the major motels with no luck, then called the Lamplighter (since they don't seem to have a website). They had a few rooms left and we got one for a little over... More

Well, the good thing about an oil boom is that they've invested in keycard locks on the doors, with a deadbolt feature. The mattresses have not been upgraded, but the ones in my room weren't unsleepable during my forced 2-week stay. They weren't great, but they weren't the worst I've dealt with. If you stay here & have chemical sensitivities,... More
