We recently enjoyed a couple nights stay at Quicksand and Cactus. It was low key, quiet, enjoyable and what we were hoping for. The historic tie in to Juanita Brooks, author, who was a past owner was definitely part of the appeal and reason we chose this property.
It is located on Main Street east of the main blvd on the hill past the St George Art Museum and Opera. It is not necessarily in walking distance to anything else, but it is certainly convenient with a car to all the St George attractions. Parking is on the wide and ample street.
It is a small property with only three rooms for guests, each with their own private entrance and bathroom. We stayed in the original brick room, which had an adjoining door to one of the other rooms for more space if needed. It was a nice size, clean, comfortable bed, good sheets, chairs to sit in and filled with furniture and knickknacks which made us feel we were back in the 40's with Juanita.
