I spent a week at the Golden Hills motel in April, and I have stayed in this motel several times in the past, as early as the 1970's when different owners managed this motel...(yes it's that old). This year though I was surprised by the improvements in the rooms themselves-----refrigerator, microwave, satellite TV, small style touches that made the room... more

I don't understand the negative reviews - maybe the hotel was recently renovated. Yes, the outside looks a little run-down, but the room was clean, good sized, had a flat screen TV and satellite TV, new mattress and pillows, microwave and fridge, and the staff was very accommodating. The location was perfect as we went to both Zion and Bryce... more

What a wonderful three night visit over the May 2009 Memorial Day weekend. Lovely staff , comfortable bed and clean room. The microwave and refigerator came in very handy. The new Dish TV service was an unexpected surprise and great reception! The restaurant was great with a variety of foods available. The proximity to Zion and Bryce was just what... more

We chose this place because it had received a great review in Frommer's. What a mistake! We arrived in Mt. Carmel Junction tired from a day of hiking in Zion and eager to find the advertised comfortable room. Our first encounter was with the Owner. We politely asked if we could use the phone to call Springdale - a town... more

This is the kind of place where they don't worry about service and quality because tourists will flock to this town anyway because of its vicinity to Zion National Park. So consider yourself lucky to be reading this review and steer clear from "Golden Hills Motel" in Mt. Carmel Junction Utah. 1) Very shoddy interiors. Lights that don't work or... more

We stayed 2 nights in their 1 room family suite, and were charged for all the sum in advance. Before entering I was offered an upgrade to a 2 room suite, but since I planned to stay 2 nights and didn't want to move in the middle, I declined. The room was below street level, run-down and shabby, plaster peeling,... more

I was looking for a room near Zion National Park. The Golden Hills Motel price was right and so was the location. Small, very basic rooms. I guess the sign said there was a pool. Seemed clean. The owners were older people, a bit grumpy but what do you expect. I could tell they were honest people. more

I called ahead and booked this, sight unseen, then crossed my fingers. When I saw the place I cringed. On the outside it looks like a throw-back from the 1950s motor hotels - all on one level, very old looking, neon lights around the roof edge. When we went into our room I was pleasantly surprised! The bed was nice,... more

We stayed here for 3 reasons; the previous review, the location to Zion National Park and the fact that dogs were allowed. We had planned on staying for at least two nights but after the first night we changed plans and moved to Motel 6 in Hurricane, Utah which was a wise decision. The problems we encountered were the following;... more

Staff is wonderful. We got the impression that this Hotel was family owned. The Family Suites are two rooms joined together with shared restroom. Door in second room is shut permanently with screws. One room had cable the other didn’t. Staff did offer DVD’s. Refrigerator did not work. The Hotel has potential. Behind the Hotel is a stream/creek. Wildlife abounds.... more
