Driving from Bryce Canyon in December we found most accommodations were closed for the the winter. As we were heading for Zion in the morning we were pleasantly rewarded with a room at Golden Hills for around $40. The room was warm and the bed was clean. We left after sun-up and reached the canyon just as the rays of... More

We were looking for a no-frills motel to stay on the east side of Zion national park. The west side is crowded and expensive, there's an expensive full-service chain motel on the east side, and even Kanab has lost its lower-priced options. The good motel we stayed at last time was a low-priced basic motel serving the volunteers from the... More

We stayed here for one night and found the room to be clean and tidy with all the basics covered. This is an older property though and some areas of the bathroom were showing their age but everything worked well. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. The attached restaurant was the surprise delight with a wide selection... More

Stayed here 2 days ago. Rate was great and check-in was fast. The room featured a large and comfortable bed, microwave and a fridge. Only complaints are the AC filter needed some cleaning and there were loose outlets and power strips hanging from the ceiling. There was heavy lightning and the entire area lost electricity. The owner was really nice... More

From the moment I called to make reservations for our stay to the moment we left, we had a very comfortable and rewarding experience at Golden Hills Motel. We stayed in the family suite which consists of two large bedrooms at the back corner of the motel, accessible via an indoor corridor. The first bedroom had two queen sized beds,... More

PROS: price; friendly landlord; proximity to national parks; free parking; close to adjacent restaurant; for being a pet-friendly motel, the room did not smell of pet/urine; delightful plastic vine sitting atop the wall air conditioner unit; good WiFi reception. CONS: dead flies in bathroom windowsill; items on carpet that had not been vacuumed; cozy size of room; no free breakfast... More

We had a very nice room, clean and modern, very quiet, good rates. Staff is owner, eccentric and likes rock collecting. A very impressive collection. The setting is between rustic and plain run-down on the outside, a roadside motel with the look of highway 66 in the 40s.

We stayed here back in October and had an amazing time. The owner went and turned on the electric fireplace while we filled out the paperwork, so the room was cozy and warm by the time we entered. He was personable and friendly, and had a great collection of fossils! We will definitely come back to stay.

... we stayed here for 2 nights in June, and the price was great! The rooms are very clean - the staff is very nice! Really enjoyed our 2 nights here. It is much better than across the street (Best Western). It is an old motel, so people may get turned off by it. It's worth staying here. Looks can... More

We would never have considered this place were it not for the TA reviews. We were very pleasantly surprised. It is an older hotel but they included a lot of amenities and it was very clean. No breakfast but there's a little diner right next door. The owner was pleasant and the price was much lower than the big motel... More
