San Juan Inn is nearby Monument Valley, but is in Mexican Hat. Great location on San Juan River, just across the river from the Navaho Nation. We stayed in the apartment above the trading post. It had 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, kitchen and could sleep 8. The place was spacious and clean with great views. The trading post offers supplies,... more

The motel was convenient to Monument Valley and my wife and I spent 2 nights here. The rooms were adequate and comfortable. The location was impressive, overlooking the San Juan River and hugged right up against a cliff. Restuarant was conveniet and they offered a terrific Navaho Tacco for lunch or dinner. Monument valley is only 15 minutes away and... more

We stayed there on our way from Moab to the Grand Canyon. We arrived late and the front desk staff was very friendly. We had dinner and breakfast at the Cafe and had adequate food and good service. I would recommend it, since there isn't much choice in Mexican Hat. more

I've stayed in several hotels / motels in order to visit Monument Valley and the other attractions around the San Juan River - including Gouldings, but after my most recent stay at the San Juan Inn I believe it to be the best value in the area. For this visit the rooms had been upgraded, with better furnishing and amenities,... more

My bf and I stayed here after we went through Monument Valley on our way to Arches. For what we paid ($84+tax) it wasn't worth it, but we didn't have much choice. The room was nice (2nd floor, nice view) and it was clean but that's about it. The one good thing about it was that the bathroom sink (which... more

We stayed 2 nights here earlier this month. The rooms were very good and clean but no fridge which would have been nice. The staff were all very friendly and the cafe on side was very handy. The location is great - right on the river with plenty of comfy seating. We stopped here on our way from Moab to... more

I've just come back from Monument Valley. That's the most beautiful place I have ever seen. We stay 2 nights in San Juan. We loved location only 20 miles from Monument Valley and so close to Gooseneck, Mexican Hat Rock, Moki Dugway, Valley of the Gods. We also loved the price ($65-during March). We chose almost the cheapest hotel we... more

Located beside the river in Mexican Hat this is a quiet comfortable hotel. There is an on-site restaurant with a reasonable selection of food for dinner and breakfast including some Mexican (excellent) and Navajo dishes. Breakfast is not included. WiFi is provided. Price was higher than most equivalent places but similar to other Mexican Hat hotels. Mexican Hat is a... more

We chose this Inn because of its setting on the edge of Monument Valley and weren't sure just what it would be like. Everything about the San Juan Inn was fine, nice room, nice views, very clean. The only problem was yet again, the weird Utah drinking rules. We could only get a drink with our food, and once finished... more
