We spent two nights here while exploring Monument Valley. The trading post is in a beautiful and relaxing spot right along the San Juan River. The room was spacious and clean; staff were friendly and helpful, and there is a restaurant on the premises. We would definitely stay here again. more

The San Juan Inn was the best in a very depressing setting. Mexican Hat is a depressed whistle stop on the edge of the Navajo Nation. The landscape is stark and the people seemed trapped in a time warp of aged buildings. The Inn is clean and well run, providing all the services you need in the middle of nowhere.... more

If $ is a limitation for your stay at Goulding's Lodg or The View hotel, San Juan Inn will be your next destination for a night stay close to Monument Valley (MV from now). We spent a night there after a day at MV. The hotel is very conveniently located just before a bridge over San Juan river, so you... more

I stayed here with two friends on a motorcycle trip through Southern Utah. The San Juan Inn is a clean, basic hotel. It sits at the bottom of a cliff on the banks of the San Juan River. Our room was perfectly acceptable. It's not the Ritz. Just a basic hotel in a nice location. Try the restaurant. We ate... more

What the motel lacks in accommodations is equaled by charm and the view. There's a great view of the river with lots of chairs set up to enjoy it. I loved the tone and ambiance of the inn, little details like the cow's skull propped up next to a pile of bricks. There's soul here. I'd definitely stay again, not... more

We had a 2 bedroom suite that stinked awefuly, the mattress had a strong, horrible smell of old sweat, we could not sleep because of that disgusting smell. Avoid this inn if you can ! It was the worse hotel in our 3-week trip. more

I'm curious why the San Juan Motel is listed under Monument Valley, but the cafe that is part of the same property in listed under Mexican Hat. That makes no sense, and I could see where it might be confusing. We don't spend a lot of time in the room and the San Juan Motel looked like a good affordable... more

San Juan Inn is nearby Monument Valley, but is in Mexican Hat. Great location on San Juan River, just across the river from the Navaho Nation. We stayed in the apartment above the trading post. It had 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, kitchen and could sleep 8. The place was spacious and clean with great views. The trading post offers supplies,... more

The motel was convenient to Monument Valley and my wife and I spent 2 nights here. The rooms were adequate and comfortable. The location was impressive, overlooking the San Juan River and hugged right up against a cliff. Restuarant was conveniet and they offered a terrific Navaho Tacco for lunch or dinner. Monument valley is only 15 minutes away and... more
