I was driving up Hwy. 191 and it was getting late when I arrived in Monticello looking for a place to stay. I was basically looking for "a bed and a head" and hoping not to pay too much. I was pleasantly surprised with the Blue Mountain Horsehead Inn. The gentleman who checked me in was friendly. The rate for... More

If you need a hotel between Monument Valley and Moab, this is a good choice. Spacious room, nothing fancy, but all you need is there. Good quality free WIFI. Be aware that in the evening after 9:30 you will not find any restaurant in this place; we had to buy some instant meals from the gas station and heated them... More

Monticello is not a very exiting town but you can easily drive from there to Canyonlands NP, 30 miles. Take the wonderful scenic drive, ask the owner how to get there. And you can drive to Arches NP, 60 miles and Mesa Verde NP CO, 70 miles. We were glad we chose this inn: spacious and clean room with everything... More

Well, if your are looking for a up market stay ... this isn't. Hee Europeans, if you want a true American experience, in a "desolate city" close to Moab and Monument valley, you should book this one. All kidding; true value for your money. And always great to park your car before the door of your hotel room.

Our room was right in front, not 40 feet from the highway, so it was noisy. This is an old, dog eared, very basic budget motel. A place to lay your head at best. Clean enough, it served our purposes but I won't stay there again if I can help it. Perhaps the rooms in back, off the highway are... More

We stayed in June 2014. The rooms we stayed in were clean & fresh. We reserved our rooms back in Jan 2014 and got the rooms farthest from the road & on the end of the property. Our rooms were very quiet even thou when we awoke at 7am the Inn was full! (parking lot full) We will stay here... More

We booked with this motel on May 14. Today is June 7. Despite having a confirmation about our room, we now get an e-mail telling us that the booking is no longer valid and the price has climbed. People like this do not belong in the lodging business.

Monticello got some new motels in the last few years as tourism in the area picked up. Europeans now favor the area. This property is an older motel that has been renovated by new owners. They did a good job. You get a good room for $20 less a night than the new motels in town. Rooms are pretty large... More

We arrived and from first sight, my girlfriend didn't want to go in.. The front rooms (ours) was a car length from the main highway with trucks roaring by. Maintenance equipment was chained to the side of the office (two doors over from our room), there were old dead flower pots around and the approach to the room was dirty... More

I'm staying in a room at the Blue Mountain Inn as I write this review (using their free Wi-Fi, no less) and I'm blown away by the value. The room is exceptionally clean, accommodating (microwave, mini-fridge, et), and quiet, to boot. For a mere 78 dollars and change to stay one night, I'm pleasantly surprised, to say the least. If...
