We were originally planning on booking a hotel in Moab, but the prices were outrageous. We found Monticello and looked at the great priced hotels there. When we called Blue Mountain we were around 500 miles away, not knowing the path were were about to take, and that we were about to be out of cell coverage for several hours... More

Stayed here on a recent trip to Canyon Lands NP. Place was very clean, very affordable, and very comfortable. Staff was very friendly too. A great find, always enjoy staying local if we can do it. Definitely a flash back to the past.

Location: fine. Staff: friendly & polite. Make sure you request the updated rooms in the side & back buildings. We were in the front building in a 2-room queen with kitchenette. The front building is clean, but looks like it hasn't been updated since the 1940s when the motel was built. AND be sure to bring your own kitchen items... More

I booked the "deluxe King Suite" - may I say there was nothing sweet about it. The bath is small, only has a shower, which did not drain properly, and very tight. Bumped my head on wall when washing my legs. Refrigerator did not work properly and I worried about my medication, so purchased ice and kept it in the... More

This is a cool little hotel.Nothing fancy, just the basics with a flash back to those 1950's motor inns.Remember, this is small town america. You get a bed,a mini micro and also a mini fridge and coffee maker.Staff is friendly and the if you need Wi-Fi it's available and actually very good for such a small town.Part of the small town feel is... I was driving up Hwy. 191 and it was getting late when I arrived in Monticello looking for a place to stay. I was basically looking for "a bed and a head" and hoping not to pay too much. I was pleasantly surprised with the Blue Mountain Horsehead Inn. The gentleman who checked me in was friendly. The rate for... More

If you need a hotel between Monument Valley and Moab, this is a good choice. Spacious room, nothing fancy, but all you need is there. Good quality free WIFI. Be aware that in the evening after 9:30 you will not find any restaurant in this place; we had to buy some instant meals from the gas station and heated them... More

Monticello is not a very exiting town but you can easily drive from there to Canyonlands NP, 30 miles. Take the wonderful scenic drive, ask the owner how to get there. And you can drive to Arches NP, 60 miles and Mesa Verde NP CO, 70 miles. We were glad we chose this inn: spacious and clean room with everything... More

Well, if your are looking for a up market stay ... this isn't. Hee Europeans, if you want a true American experience, in a "desolate city" close to Moab and Monument valley, you should book this one. All kidding; true value for your money. And always great to park your car before the door of your hotel room.

Our room was right in front, not 40 feet from the highway, so it was noisy. This is an old, dog eared, very basic budget motel. A place to lay your head at best. Clean enough, it served our purposes but I won't stay there again if I can help it. Perhaps the rooms in back, off the highway are... More
