The little town of Mexican Hat is nothing shy of a speck on the map, so I expected the accommodations to follow suit. I was pleasantly surprised to find a very spacious, clean, comfortable, modern room. The pool area was very cute. Wifi was a little weak, and the price was a bit high. The gal at the reception desk... More

A lot of upgrading is being done to this property. Room was recently updated and clean. Pool was very nice. Fire pits with seating areas above the river were unique. Parking was plentiful. The hotel selections in the area are limited. The price was high but it was a nice hotel.

Decided on this motel after reading other reviews. Ideal location for visiting Monument Valley and Goosenecks State Park. Unprepossessing exterior to room block gave way to small but bright, recently-decorated room on the river side, complete with refrigerator, microwave and Keurig coffee machine with a range of coffees. Milk is available at the Shell gas station over the road. Very... More

We were directed here via National Park Reservations, unknowingly taking a 10% fee for themselves and not applying as a deposit toward the room rate. Had I known this I would have called directly and saved $30 some $$. Rates were high considering no breakfast. Room clean and furnishings retro. The bed was comfortable. There was a refrig and coffee... More

We wanted to explore Monument Valley and Goosenecks etc., and this place is pretty close. I echo the point made by others that check in was somewhat slow but the room and facilities were fine and the pool came in handy as boy was it hot! There are few decent restaurants to eat in these parts and it is true... More

Stayed here a night on our drive from Moab to LA. Tiny, neat room with good bath. Not worth the cost. Conveniently located for visiting Monument valley and Goosenecks state park. You may want to consider Kayenta as well. Arrived at the check-in lobby at 2 PM and it took 20 minutes to check-in leaving the family outside at 100+... More

What a cool place to stay and be near Monument Valley, but out of the immediate tourist crowd. Mexican Hat, named after a rock formation that looks exactly like that, is a very colorful little village close to Monument Valley and providing very nice rooms right on the San Juan River. Our room was riverside (the back of the Inn),... More

The room decor was nice and the pool area is beautiful. Check-in was EXTREMELY slow and the woman at the counter wasn't particularly nice. They didn't proactively give you the wifi password and the room didn't have a phone, so I had to walk back to the front desk to get the password. It was a pain. It's especially inconvenient... More

This motel is a real find. You might when looking at the map think that Mexican Hat is a sizeable town with lots of amenities. I'm pleased to say it isn't and that's what's so great about the place. It's a few motels restaurants and a petrol station and that's it but all in it's own little red rock canyon... More

After riding through the spectacular Monument Valley we arrived at this little gem. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and I like it when the staff have taken the time to turn on the a/c so when you arrive the room is fresh and cool. The pool area looks recently renovated and is gorgeous. My only complaint is the... More
