This was our second time at this motel and we even had the exact same room. The lady who runs the place is very nice and accommodating. The room may be basic and small but what more do you need. I had the best sleep of my entire trip here. And the location is unbeatable - right down the road... More

This isn't the place to go with your wife or girlfriend. It's not that anything is broken. In fact the sink, bathroom mirror, and window curtain looked pretty new in my room. Nor is anything particularly dirty. It's just that everything is the cheapest grade that could be obtained from Home Depot or equivalent and then not very elegantly installed.... More

I had been at Monument Valley and was looking for an inexpensive place to stay. I found Mexican Hat by accident and stopped by this motel. Although the town was busy they had rooms for far less than any other place. Parking was right in front of my room which I appreciate. It is old and very dated with no... More

It is simple, but very clean place. Very close to Monument Valley. One thing to be careful about is relying on GPS to find it. I was driving at night time, and it was impossible to see around further than the lights of my own car. The exact location of the Mexican Hat is actually about 20 miles norther than... More

I stayed at this motel for two nights during a recent road trip in the desert southwest. It was a good mid-point for visiting both Monument Valley and Canyon de Chelly. This is definitely a no-frills place. No TV, no fridge, no microwave, no coffee maker. It's right next to the only gas station around, and there are a few... More

This motel has seen better days but we talked to the friendly owner and looked at the room and stayed. It is spartan but clean, quiet, cheap ($45 for 2) and has a fantastic location in the midst of a few other hotels that charge exorbitant rates to tourists looking for upscale accommodations in a tiny town far from anywhere.... If you are traveling alone or with your mate, this is a nice little spot to lay your head for the night. Does have wifi but no TV. Comfy bed and little bathroom/shower/tub. Price when I was there (08-20-12) was only 45 bucks. There are only 3 or 4 motels there and they fill up quick as it is a... More

While enroute to the Grand Canyon from Moab our family of 4 needed a cheap place to stay. Friday night rate for 4 was $71 total and a good deal considering place across road was $175. We only needed a bed and shower for the evening. The lady that ran this place was extremely friendly and helpful and actually made... More

I'd probably rate this at 2.5 stars, really. The room and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable. Great location as it's very close to Monument Valley and for an incredibly cheap price as well. There's not much to do or see in the vicinity itself, I believe there were two restaurants and a gas station and that's about... More
