Whispering Sands was clean and quiet. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I can't say enough about them. Hanksville is one great restaurant away from becoming a destination. There is enough to do nearby to keep you busy for multiple days. But we were just passing through on this trip. Whispering Sands made our visit easy, affordable, and comfortable.

We stayed here two nights while exploring Little Wild Horse and Horse Shoe Canyons. The room and bed were comfortable and quite luxurious for the middle of nowhere, desert setting. The management was responsive to our requests (extra pillows, rags for boot cleaning). Continental breakfast at a nearby restaurant was adequate but nothing fancy. An outside hose to clean off... We reserved and were charged for the room upon making the reservation a full month ahead of our stay. The room was pleasant - quiet, clean and good WIFI - no pool. Refrigerator was the small under the counter type but served our needs. Surprisingly nice for such a small town. Plenty of parking for water or back country toys.... More

I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at this motel. The room was exceptionally clean and updated. The Jacuzzi bath tub was very nice with a very large bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and I like that they had chairs outside your room.

This place is right in the middle of no where but it is a great place to rest and relax for the evening. It has tons of parking and WiFi. But you have to remember you are in the middle of nowhere and the WiFi only works slow or not at all.

Not much in this small town, but I was surprised that I liked this place. Nice and quiet-satisfied our needs for a one-night stay. Your stay comes with a continental breakfast at the nearby Stan's Burger Shack which is owned by the same family, as well as, the Slickrock Grill and RV park. By the way, we had a good... More

We didn't have a reservation and the sign said No Vacancy. What to do in a small place with few options? My husband went into the office anyway and came out with keys to our room! Hooray. Nice, clean, spacious room. Also got a discount at the best place to eat dinner in Hanksville as part of the deal and... More

We took a road trip recently and ended up passing through Hanksville, Utah, looking for a place to stay. The AAA guide review does not do this establishment justice. It is not very attractive on the outside, but the rooms are lovely! Great A/C, nice amenities, beautiful soft towels. We'd been on a road trip for 10 days and this... More

This year marked our third time to motorcycle across Utah 12 and some of the most beautiful roads in the country. It also marked our third stay at the Whispering Sands. On our road trips we try to watch our budget and find lodging that is clean and comfortable. This hotel has met our needs on all three stays. Hanksville... More
