Don't be put off by the rustic sign or the tattered chairs outside the rooms. It was clean, comfortable, quiet and incredibly friendly. The staff treated us like family. An excellent value. We would go out of our way to stay there again. There are plenty of soulless, characterless motels in America and fortunately Hanksville Inn is NOT one of... More

The Hanksville Inn is a wonderful family run joint that has been completely rebuilt by Ed, the current owner. The first year he owned the property a flood hit and as the lowest point in all of Hanksville, the inn took two feet of water all throughout. Since then, Ed has repainted, reupholstered, rewired, and installed new bathrooms in every... More

My husband and I have been traveling cross country and this hotel was the worst in our 3 month trip. Stay at the other motel, whispering sands? if possible. There are only two in Hanksville, and nothing else for miles. We wished we would have camped but it was too cold. No updating can save this motel, it needs to... More

We've been traveling around CO, WY, ID, UT, AZ and NM. We've stayed in a mix of mom and pops and places like Hilton Garden Inn and B & B's. This is not the worse mom and pop we've stayed in and with only two to choose from, you can't be too picky. Room larger than expected but most certainly... More

Not the best, but there's not much to choose here. The place was smelling not very clean and flies where everywhere. Overprised old Inn, but with a friendly staff. An old rocker with long hair, but very friendly. We survived, so will you.

Where to begin... how about a few positive items? Staff was friendly. Hot water was hot. AC was cold... sort of, but noisy. 10% discount on food at the restaurant across the street. That's about it. We arrived on a rainy night. We checked in and got a key... an actual metal key... not one of those plastic magnetic cards.... More

We were the mercy of the flooding in CO and chose to stop rather than back track and go 200 miles out of our way. With only 2 choices...and the other one with a NO Vacancy sign we were stuck. Our room was over priced from what we'd experienced in our 18 days on the road...but location and desperation forced... More

the rooms were very clean an comfortable. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Place is old but rooms have been updated. Outside area could be cleaned up of broken down machines,. but looks like an old movie set! The Steakhouse across street was great. Check out the hand painted tees on sale in motel office.

Not the worst stay ever, but defiantly not a good or memorable one either....With 2 motels in remote Hanksville to choose from, only this one allows dogs...If we hadn't been so weary and road trip tired we would of kept driving...But the steak house across the street helped us decide to stop here overnight.... The rooms inside are just plain... More

We stayed here one night on our way into the Maze District of Canyonlands. As you read the previous comments, remember that there is no other town around for miles, that this is a rather inhospitable place on the earth, and that it is the only game in town. Sure, it's not 5 star, but our future expedition into the... More
