Needing a stop over between Brice Canyon and the Grand Canyon, this fitted the bill perfectly. Nice welcome when we got there, though the rooms look fairly shabby from the outside they are spotless on the inside. The bed was one of the most comfortable we've had during this holiday. They are very basic (no hairdryers ladies), but had a... More

Saw this motel online and thought would be a neat place to stop. The pictures online must have been taken when it first opened. This was the most rundown motel I have ever seen. We would NEVER have stayed here, but the other hotels in the area were booked, so we had to. We were on motorcycles, if you are... More

Stayed here early July for a night with my wife. The room was clean and the AC working just fine. The manager was courteous and helpful. Although Hanksville is in the middle of nowhere on the way to nearby national parks, this little inn offers a quiet nights rest for a very reasonable price.

only two hotels in town. this one is cheaper, but maybe not enough to make it worth it over the whispering sands up the street which looks much newer. place is old and a bit run down - in other locations this would be a flophouse, its a $30 hotel for $85 - but it is hanksville - remote and... For $85 I want more. The staff looks like a bunch of dirty bikers. They were arguing in the "office" sad place, held together with caulk. The room is worth about $30. Pitch a tent. Not much competion here though. Whispering sands is more, but has free breakfast.

i booked a couple of rooms at this place about 3 months in advanced of my travel. A few days before I was to arrive, the guy calls me up and says sorry the decided to rent the whole place out to another group. This and I had a confirmed reservation with a credit card number on file. A few... More

Worst experience ever. To be precise, I can't tell anything about the rooms etc ... because they never let me in. But let me tell the whole story: Due to some hassle with another hotel, I lost my reservation for that day and had to find something in or near Hanksville for the next day (on Memorial Day weekend). Bad... More

Myself and a friend were backpacking about 400 miles of the Hayduke Trail from Arches National Park to Escalante. We originally planned to re-supply at Hite, but it was closed, so we re-supplied at Hanksville and stayed at the Hanksville Inn. Ed, the owner, allowed us to send out re-supply packages to him so we would not be hampered by... More

Ed, the owner is a man with a lot of character. He works extremely hard to try to keep this old motel up and running. Not quite the only game in town but close the summer demand keeps this place alive. It's definitely not pretty but Ed does take some pride in his establishment and has been upgrading the rooms... We always enjoy supporting locally owner run businesses so we were kinda psyched to stay at the Hanksville Inn. However the room we stayed in, and the atmosphere of the hotel were a little too rough for us. The windows are broken, the bed has the bottom kinda popped out, the wall paneling is splitting apart in spite of the... More
