The rooms were expertly decorated in the theme of the area. We had a wonderful host. This was our first time visiting a B & B and it was a pleasant surprise. We are both allergic to cats and the owner makes them feel right at home but we did manage to keep our allergies under control and not say... More

Visited this hotel after season (Nov. 2014). Found it to be a hidden gem in the middle of relatively nowhere - except for the beautiful scenery in and around Grand Staircase Utah. We had booked this hotel due to our desire to spend time in Escalante exploring the beautiful canyons and hiking trails in the area. Tom was a super... More

Where there is smoke, there is fire. There is a review left on July 29, 2014 that describes pretty closely what my wife and I experienced at checkout time. The owners response implies that the person who left the review is fibbing but what we experienced was so similar my feeling is the reviewer was being truthful. Just prior to... More

The area around Escalante has amazing scenery. The drive from Capitol Reef NP to Escalante and then on to Bryce is world class. Escalante itself is small, but has essential tourist facilities. The rooms at this B&B are more like a motel, but very nicely furnished. Tom, the main host contact, was very friendly and helpful with suggestions on the... More

Booked this B&B as a last minute thought on our way to Capitol Reef. We Liked Grand Staircase Escalante and Hwy 12 WAY better than Capitol reef by the way. We were very surprised and impressed by how cute and quaint this place is. It's relatively small but the room was large and nicely appointed. I believe that they are... More

Escalante town is a bit of a wind swept back water, laid out in a traditional US grid pattern. This Bed and Breakfast is right on the main street although you need to look carefully as it is easy to miss it. Despite the mundane outside appearance the room we stayed in was very well equipped, tidy and clean. The... More

The Escalante’s Grand Staircase B&B is not typical of B&Bs. Its layout is like a small motel. The driveway is stones/dirt and parking is at the door of each unit. The rooms themselves are nicely decorated, clean, commodious, and much more upscale than the impression conveyed by the general surroundings of the property. The proprietor has a long set of... We were pleasently surprise at this B&B. Our room was large and clean. Bathroom was large and clean. While the rooms were detach from the house, it was still a nice atmosphere. Each room had a different mural theme on the walls. Our breakfasts were great. Tom was very friendly and offered suggestions on what to see. Enjoyed sitting on... More

The rooms are more of a motel than a bed and breakfast, but they provide a quiet stay. We had two comfortable queen beds and a very enjoyable breakfast. Tom offered a lot of advice on local attractions. Luckily, we ignored his comment on Zion National Park ("booooring"), as it was the best part of our trip.

this B&B is a little different to others we have stayed in but I really liked it and would definitely come back again. The owner Tom was very friendly and chatty and made an awesome breakfast. The rooms are in 'rows' away from the main house and this makes it very private and quiet. The rooms themselves are very spacious,... More
