The owner/ caretaker is from the old school of friendliness/ helpfulness when it comes to information about hikes in the surrounds. Rooms are clean. The restaurant next door has fab food & there is a public laundry next door in the RV park, all walking distance. We enjoyed our stay !

The owners were very nice and helpful. The room was clean and recently updated. Huge walk in shower. We ate at the resturant which was excellent. Loved the books, maps and travel guides which were in the room. I'd stay again.

We hit a patch of cold weather so we had to change plans and stay at a hotel instead of camping out. We were so lucky to find the Circle D Motel. The room was comfortable and the hosts are great. They even had copies of hiking guides in the room so we could plan each day. It's a fine... More

I booked the cozy cottage for a stay in late March. Our first words upon opening the door was "WOW, this is so cute!" Reminded us of grandma's house with lots of welcoming touches. We really enjoyed the kitchen to make meals and prepare picnic lunches. The front room was lovely in the afternoon and evening to relax and spread... More

If you are looking for a motel with an extremly attentive owner, this is the place you want to stay at. There is also an extensive collection of ( photography) books and brochures in each room to round things up. Needless to say that the rooms are very clean and beds are comfy. Who then cares, that the furniture is... More

We requested a king room at the end of February as we were passing through while exploring along scenic byway 12. We were put in a rather old building right across from the owners residence/office. What I mean by interesting is that I continually speculated whether the building was modified to be motel complex from some type of other purpose,... More

everything we needed, a bit dated but homey - like staying at your granny's. Clean and welcoming. Being winter, a lot of things, eateries etc were closed. But the location and scenery made up for it. Robert and the town folks were very helpful and welcoming. Wej would stay there agin.

Stayed for one night in late November. Having already tried the Prospector and the Padre on previous trips, thought I'd finish the trifecta by staying at the Circle D. The room was clean and functional, and I especially appreciated the trail guide and other informational materials in the room. The bathroom was also clean, with a bit of evidence of... More

I think this motel was originally made of traveling sales men to stay at. The rooms are small by modern standards and a little quirky, as in there was only one outlet by the sink where we could charge our electronics and it was difficult to get the water to be something other than hot or cold. But if you... More
