No matter which way you drive to get to Red Canyon, the experience is one of the best in the country. Great roads/great scenery... two of the most impressive geologic anticlines in the USA! Once you arrive, your senses undergo total refreshment. At 6400', this is Ponderosa country; and they do smell and sound lovely! The setting is fabulous during... More

Rustic but modern and clean cabins. The cabins are amongst trees and have a nice view over the lake. You felt close to nature with deer wandering past the porch both in the early morning and late evening. The restaurant was ok having a small but reasonable choice and quality of food. The staff were friendly and helpful. Tips: We... More

My son and I recently spent 3 days fishing on the Green River in NW Utah. We stayed at the Red Canyon Lodge. The lodge has a beautiful setting in the mountains with a small lake right out the front door. Cabins are large, very clean and well equipped (including a small kitchenette). The furniture is rustic and not too... More

A mountain resort near Dutch John, Utah featuring cute cabins, some designed for couples, some for families. The cabins are clean and well appointed, and from what I could see, most of them have a few of the lake. There is a restaurant and convenience store on the property. The restaurant food is good, but they are only open for... More

Thank you for your comments and yes, the larger Ponderosa units do have place settings and cutlery. Free wi-fi is available at or near the main lodge building. Unfortunately we have currently been unable to extend the signal to the cabins. We also have limited cell phone service on the property. The Lodge uses AT&T and although the signal is... More

Six of us rented three of the Ponderosa units for five nights. We were fishing the Green River and Flaming Gorge reservoir. The cabins are located on a private lake with excellent fishing. I had my kayak and caught fish. The cabins are clean and comfortable with a small frig, cooktop and microwave. We enjoyed the fire pit with free... More

We rented a couple of the smaller a couple of smaller alpine cabins and one larger ponderosa cabin (both sides) for a large family vacation. All cabins were clean and comfortable. Plenty of fans to help cool down in the evening. Alpine cabins have just a mini-fridge, coffeemaker, and microwave. The ponderosa cabin has a small stove top, microwave, some... More

Thank you for your concise review! We have many family's that enjoy staying with us and we hope your review will encourage more to come! We always hope that our cabins without the TV's and WiFi offer families a chance to reconnect, to be silly and childlike by playing games and laughing together. We hope you return again! More

This is so great if you love the outdoors. We took a crockpot for cooking dinners and had a wonderful time. There is a private lake, you are a few minutes from flaming gorge and the staff could not have been friendlier! We are going back next year!

If you're looking for a quiet, serene, place to "get away from it all," this is it! We come here annually, and it's just beautiful! There is a nice walk to a scenic look out, and the lake right outside your cabin door seals the deal! Each room has a kitchenette. (Some of the burners don't work, so we take... More

We only spent one night here, I wish it had been a lot longer. The cabin was cosy and comfortable. With a lake view and all the wildlife just outside the door it was heavenly.
