Six of us rented three of the Ponderosa units for five nights. We were fishing the Green River and Flaming Gorge reservoir. The cabins are located on a private lake with excellent fishing. I had my kayak and caught fish. The cabins are clean and comfortable with a small frig, cooktop and microwave. We enjoyed the fire pit with free... More

We rented a couple of the smaller a couple of smaller alpine cabins and one larger ponderosa cabin (both sides) for a large family vacation. All cabins were clean and comfortable. Plenty of fans to help cool down in the evening. Alpine cabins have just a mini-fridge, coffeemaker, and microwave. The ponderosa cabin has a small stove top, microwave, some... More

This is so great if you love the outdoors. We took a crockpot for cooking dinners and had a wonderful time. There is a private lake, you are a few minutes from flaming gorge and the staff could not have been friendlier! We are going back next year!

If you're looking for a quiet, serene, place to "get away from it all," this is it! We come here annually, and it's just beautiful! There is a nice walk to a scenic look out, and the lake right outside your cabin door seals the deal! Each room has a kitchenette. (Some of the burners don't work, so we take... More

Thank you for your comments! Looks like you stayed with us in February and the good news is that we have been updating our units! We put new carpet in all the bedrooms this winter, recovered all the furniture in the living rooms that were in need. We continue replacing worn kitchenettes as well. Your trip must have just caught... More

We only spent one night here, I wish it had been a lot longer. The cabin was cosy and comfortable. With a lake view and all the wildlife just outside the door it was heavenly. We ate in the restaurant on site in the evening and enjoyed a good meal while we watched the hummingbirds outside the window. Next morning... More

We visited Flaming Gorge during our vacation in 2014 and discovered the Red Canyon Lodge while exploring the area. This year, our trip was planned around staying at this lovely location. The Alpine cabin was charming and we couldn’t have been happier. The afternoons spent on the cabin porch were very relaxing. We were treated to what I fondly call... More

This was our fourth, mid-May, week-long visit to Red Canyon Lodge. I am impressed with the CONSISTENCY of house-keeping and Gretchen's willingness to help with any needs. So often in rural facilities, trying to find great employees to deliver consistent service levels is nothing less than a challenge. Somehow, RCL has figured it out. I would ask they bring WiFi... We stayed in unit E of the Ponderosa cabins (style with a kitchenette). The cabin was super clean and superbly maintained. I was impressed that the kitchenette, based on the emblem, must be quite old yet the stainless steel top looked brand new! They clearly take great care of these places. They have some basics in the kitchen - plates,... More

We had a lake view cabin with Rocky Mountain goats nearby---there was heat in all three rooms (bed, bath and den-like room). It was very clean (very) and comfortable. No WIFI, which was great---just the outdoors. A beautiful area of the country---the Sheep Creek Loop is 10 miles away and a "must do" if you are in the area.

Thank you for your review and we are happy to know that you were able to meet our neighbors, the Rocky Mountain goats. We also are in agreement with you that this is a 'beautiful area of the country' and Sheep Creek Loop is one of our favorite hikes too! More

We booked a cabin last minute thanks to a cancellation, and had few expectations. When we arrived we were very surprised to check into a clean, well appointed cabin with lots of room for our family of 4 and fantastic views of the lake. Our boys were thrilled to find a giant stuffed bear on one of the beds (with... More

Wow! Thank you for your review in so many ways! The detail of your stay is invaluable to us and hopefully to our future guests. We rarely see guests to make full use of everything we offer from fly fishing to horseback riding, hiking and enjoying our scenic views and wildlife but you and your family did just that. Sorry...
