It's a small park a bit off the beaten track so fewer visitors which is a plus. Early morning and late afternoon are the best times to visit as the light for photography is optimal. It's a photographer's paradise as the name hints, but it is still a small State Park. Pleased that I visited but would not recommend a... More

We drove to Kadachrome Basin S.P. from Tropic as we have 2-3 hours before meeting my daughter and her boyfriend. This is a nice park worth visiting if you have time and in the area. You will find interesting rock formations, monolithic stone spires, hoodoos and colours. We enjoyed the trail to Shakespeare Arch, stopping a few times to admire... More

We stayed in a tent here for three nights to explore the area (Bryce Canyon and Grand Staircase Escalante-Monument) and it was great! Its a cool area with the sandpipes although hot until the sun goes behind the canyon rim in the evening. Nice to have picnic table, it wasn't too busy, there were nice walks around, and showers were... More

This review is mostly about the park camping. It was a perfect camping: plenty of room, hot showers, very beautiful setting among spectacular rock formations, cheap, good personnel welcome, very good drinkable water. The morning after the walked the Angel's Palace Trail: it has very nice views on the valley and rock formations. Conslusion: very reccomendable!

We stayed in one of the cabins. The park is amazing, very scenic and quite the hidden gem. Hikes include box canyons, hoodoos, pipes, spires, even an arch within the park. All are highly recommended. Deer are around, if you keep an eye out near sunset. Things to know before you come: 1. The cabins have plates, silverware, coffee cups,... More

Decided to camp here after a last minute change of plans - what a great decision. I arrived about 6pm on a Monday evening and snagged one of the last remaining tent sites for $19 a night. What a fantastic campground - pretty, impeccably cleaned sites and bathrooms, well maintained grounds, friendly staff, hot showers included in the price, a... More

This is a small state park near Bryce Canyon.Yes, it was named for Kodachrome film! It is extremely scenic and it has a little known Arch about 18 miles away, but you will have to do a little off-roading on gravel roads to get there. You'll be rewarded with Grosvenor Arch. (photo attached) The place was filled with RV's and... More

We really enjoyed this campground; friendly staff, immaculate camping sites, free hot showers, and a spectacular location. You can walk to a few of the hikes in the park. All in all we think this is a top-notch campground. However, a couple of caveats: in May, the no-see-ums came out and I am still itching from the dozens of bites... More

We'll never forget eating our dinner on the cabin porch while watching the sun set over the spectacular red rocks. It was really special. The cabin itself was very roomy and comfortable. Cabins are very close together though so it felt like we were on top of our neighbors whenever we were outside. Also, there is absolutely no cell service... More
