This review is mostly about the park camping. It was a perfect camping: plenty of room, hot showers, very beautiful setting among spectacular rock formations, cheap, good personnel welcome, very good drinkable water. The morning after the walked the Angel's Palace Trail: it has very nice views on the valley and rock formations. Conslusion: very reccomendable!

We stayed in one of the cabins. The park is amazing, very scenic and quite the hidden gem. Hikes include box canyons, hoodoos, pipes, spires, even an arch within the park. All are highly recommended. Deer are around, if you keep an eye out near sunset. Things to know before you come: 1. The cabins have plates, silverware, coffee cups,... More

Decided to camp here after a last minute change of plans - what a great decision. I arrived about 6pm on a Monday evening and snagged one of the last remaining tent sites for $19 a night. What a fantastic campground - pretty, impeccably cleaned sites and bathrooms, well maintained grounds, friendly staff, hot showers included in the price, a... More

This is a small state park near Bryce Canyon.Yes, it was named for Kodachrome film! It is extremely scenic and it has a little known Arch about 18 miles away, but you will have to do a little off-roading on gravel roads to get there. You'll be rewarded with Grosvenor Arch. (photo attached) The place was filled with RV's and... More

We really enjoyed this campground; friendly staff, immaculate camping sites, free hot showers, and a spectacular location. You can walk to a few of the hikes in the park. All in all we think this is a top-notch campground. However, a couple of caveats: in May, the no-see-ums came out and I am still itching from the dozens of bites... More

We'll never forget eating our dinner on the cabin porch while watching the sun set over the spectacular red rocks. It was really special. The cabin itself was very roomy and comfortable. Cabins are very close together though so it felt like we were on top of our neighbors whenever we were outside. Also, there is absolutely no cell service... More

I guess I really expected vibrant in your face colors in this state park given the name. The road in is unpaved and dusty but we did see some interesting rock formations and decided to take the footpath to see Shakespeare's Arch. I believe it was about a mile and a half round trip but the pathway was fairly easy;... More

Beautiful quiet remote setting, very clean campsites & restrooms. Foot prints are brushed out between campers. Hot showers! Outdoor sink for washing dishes. Firewood for sale. Staff at visitor center very pleasant. Grumpy staff at store at cabins, though.

Very beautiful scenery, unfriendly staff. I stayed in a cabin for two nights in October 2013 with my wife and our two years old toddler. The scenenery is very beautiful. The cabins could be kept better. Very dusty in some places. Anyway: you got a terrace and a private grill with equipment (gas provided by campground). So just get yourself... More

The basin is state owned land that is at the top of the Grand Staircase Escalante (a national park). The views of the mountains are gorgeous as you enter the park. There are several hikes and there is a drivable loop thru part of the park. We did the Panorama hike, and the hike to Shakespeare arch. Liked Shakespeare arch,... More
