This is one of the coolest restaurants in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The food is truly home-cooked, always excellent is generous portion sizes The food is not cheap. But the money is well spent. Alcohol is being served plentiful. In the summer, there's a wonderful outdoors sitting area. In the winter, this is a perfect site to wind down after a... More

We were driving around Big Cottonwood Canyon and stopped at this restaurant for lunch. It doesn't look like much from the street but we made the right choice. We sat on a shaded deck that had hummingbird feeders and wonderful views. The food was great. Our waiter was friendly. We highly recommend it.

Our son and his wife chose this venue for their wedding. It was beautiful. The staff that worked the afternoon and evening event were incredible. They assisted in the set up and would help those of us decorating with anything we needed. After the ceremony they had everything set up perfectly. When the BIG clap of thunder and pending rain/hail... More

Love this place. They are consistent with quality of food and service! The homemade corned beef hash is to die for with chunks of corned beef. The outdoor deck is perfect with an awesome view. A must if you are in the canyon. We had our wedding here several years ago and been coming back ever since. The rooms are... More

Have been staying here - many times - since the 90's. The rooms are adequate - always clean and comfortable. Dan, the owner, is the best! His staff is the best! They will go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The food is really good. We are always treated like family - really. I have traveled in... More

My husband and I are staying here for 2 nights with the first decent snow of the year at Cottonwood Canyon. The Navajo room is clean warm and cozy. We are the only lodgers so very quiet and the service from all staff is exceptional. The food in the restaurant is beyond delicious with generous servings. If we didn't live... More

We recently spent 3 nights here and found it to be very welcoming, comfortable, and with a delicious breakfast included to boot! We stayed in the Kaibab Sage room, one of seven rooms available, all on the second floor. The decor is decidedly rustic, warm and charming. The staff is cheerful and friendly. The restaurant is on the first floor... More

On our way to Solitude for one last day of Nordic skiing. We went early so there would be room for us at breakfast on what was obviously going to be a busy morning. There was room and we were served almost immediately. The menu was impressive and I chose a short stack of Buckwheat pancakes. You don't see Buckwheat... More

My husband and i stayed at the Silver Fork Lodge for the second time in the days preceding Valentine's Day and the President's Day weekend. The last time we were there, we almost took over all the rooms with our adult kids and sister's family; this time it was just the two of us. It is perfect for both romantic... More

For six years we have brought a group of 40-50 people from the Outdoor Retailer show to Solitude for skiing, and then to Dan's house at Silver Fork for apres ski, and then to his restaurant across the street for a buffet dinner downstairs. Dan and his family and staff have been amazing hosts, treating us like family, and the... More
