We stayed three nights in Bluff, including time for a canyon hike, Indian art finds at local trading posts, and a float trip down the San Juan River. The Twin Rocks Cafe and Gift Shop is nearby with most needs and decent food. Ask about the historic properties available besides the charming roadside inn with cozy swimming pool--we stayed at... I enjoy privately owned entities! You can tell this family loves what they do and they enjoy making your stay worth while. This little town is amazing, like Mayberry from Andy Griffith or Radiator Springs from Cars, I look forward to coming back with my wife someday!

When in Bluff we always stay at the Recapture Lodge. The staff are very knowledgeable with great tips about the amazing archaeological sites, wonderful hikes, and other things to do in the Bluff area. There is a library of books and maps to get you to many of these places and there is also the occasional slide show in the... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in June 2015. All was fine. Maybe just lacking more places to put clothes away / hang them up, We didn't want to have to live out of the suitcases for 3 days. The pool in the grounds is lovely on a hot afternoon, and the breakfast buffet is just want's needed: cereals, bread,... More

This is a no frills place to stay but there is a nice charm to it. The owners are very friendly and know a lot about the surrounding area. Located right in the center of bluff It's a no frills but a nice place to stay.

We decided last minute to visit 4 Corners on our return trip from CA to CO. I found encouraging ratings/reviews online before calling Recapture Lodge. We were able to book a room arriving late w/3 kids and a dog in tow. The description of the 1959 establishment was right on, and we found our paneled room charming and ready for... More

Recapture has the cozy character of an older motel, but everything is updated and kept very clean. The kitchen suite was spacious yet had a lovely homey feel. Our room had vintage outdoor magazines which gave it a cool nostalgic vibe. Pool, bathroom, air-conditioning, and WiFi were great! Jim, the owner, was super-helpful giving us directions for a hike to... More

Recapture Lodge was such a pleasant surprise. It is family owned and everyone makes you feel welcomed. The two older daughters Jill and Lacy, who we always dealt with, were absolutely charming, friendly and very knowledgeable. We were on motorcycles and had parked our bikes, cleaned up and were going to walk to a restaurant about a half mike away.... More

Recapture Lodge is a family owned place with varied rooms, a nice little pool, access to trails along the San Juan, breakfast. I especially loved the front desk woman who was wonderfully chatty and friendly and shared all sorts of local info. Clean, roomy, good beds. Great price (especially compared to Desert Rose). I'll stay there again next time in... More

We had a wonderful visit to this lodge. Kids loved the pool and the 2 horses. We had a great hike to the river. Bluff is a beautiful town wish we could have planned a ride down the river, maybe next time.
