We stayed two nights at the Recapture Lodge in Sept 09, and found it was the friendliest and best value hotel of our tour around Utah and N.Arizona. The rooms were very comfortable and we especially liked the format of the breakfast. The pool and the short tree-lined walk to the San Juan River were an unexpected delight. Sadly, we... more

We stayed here one night on the way to Grand Canyon. It was really a cabin type place without carpet on the floor and furniture was the lodge type. They did have WiFi free but only 4 tv stations. The beds were comfy but the lighting was very dim. Bring a light with you.The breakfast was a good deal. You... more

Although considered rustic by some, it has a comfortable, homey feeling. Only draw back for some woud be limited tv reception, but the night sky puts on it 's own show. more

Picking a motel off the internet is risky at best, but I picked a winner with this motel. The motel was clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff was more than helpful, and allowed me to call my husband from their phone when my cell phone provider did not work in this area. I also like to support privately owned businesses... more

We were really pleased with our stay here for a few reasons: 1) About six weeks before our trip I madly called hotel after hotel and could find no place with any openings (other than the v-e-r-y expensive View Hotel in Monument Valley). Recapture was able to accommodate us in a two bedroom (living room with pull-out, full kitchen and... more

We travel extensively in the Southwest and don't require upscale accomodations to be happy. We do, however, like to be comfortable--and the Recapture Lodge simply wasn't comfortable or relaxing for us. The room was very small and spartan. The towels in the bathroom were worn and thin. The bed was awful with an old mattress that sloped down in the... more

I stayed here with my wife and 3 girls prior to a float trip down the San Juan. Our room was rustic to say the least, and there was no air conditioning at all. The innkeeper told us the AC was evaporative, and only worked when the windows were open. We opened the windows and still sweated in our room... more

Recapture Lodge is in a very nice environment surrounded by trees. The swimming pool is ideal for refreshing and relaxing after some road. Rooms are pretty big and nice. For the price it is real value. Do not hesitate. Plus owners are charming people. more

What a gem of a place. It's a great location for Monument Valley, the room was a nice size, clean, had a fridge and was set back in a slightly wooded area. The pool is nice and the wireless connection was one of the best I found in my three week trip. But, above all, Recapture Lodge just has a... more

Stayed here two nights on our way to the Grand Canyon via Monument Valley. Rooms are clean and rustic. Balconies to sit out on in an evening and watch the humming birds! Good pool area. Service was excellent, the hosts are very knowledgeable and gave us very good advice on where to eat in the neighbourhood, tours etc. Would stay... more
