If you ever find yourself driving to - or leaving Las Vegas - and you just can't keep your eyes open any longer, look for this exit in Beaver, Utah and go to this splendid little, American owned and operated motel. There are also a big Best Western and a rather institutional looking Rodeway Inn at this exit along with gas, a McDonalds (best Big Mac I've eaten in a long time) and a nice looking coffee shop with lousy service (which is why I went to MickieDs). The Rodeway Inn was bogus as they posted a price of $44 a night, but the Middle Eastern managers were rude and demanded $144. The Best Western was full. I was so lucky that I got the last room at the Country Inn – and for only $54.
The rooms are squeaky clean! The carpet, beds, and bathrooms are all new. The walls between each room are made of thick stone, limiting the noise from the neighbors.
I was greeted at the desk by a great young American woman who made sure that I was safe and secure. As I checked...
