Van Horn, TX is not big and this is one of the few national chains. They are all small and limited but with this location, it is owned by the usual that own motels, and of course run cheaply. My biggest complaint is that for a dog fee they list on the website as $10 but once I checked in,... more

Hotel was the nicest one in the area, for being in the the middle of nowhere. Room was nice and clean and the wi-fi worked well. The only thing I had was the price of the room. Although, it was the nicest one in the area, the price was still like $30 more than the other hotels to include a... more

We have stayed at many Econolodges in our travels, and the most exasperating part is how inconsistent this chain is. We have stayed in some that are excellent (Colorado Springs) and others (Dalhart) which are simply awful. The Econolodge in Van Horn falls in the middle. While it was o.k. there were a half dozen choices within walking distance that... more

Talk about disappointing. The "free" internet didn't work and the staff had no clue as to what to do about it. The pool was away from the building and when my wife and grand-daughter went to try it out, there were two men sitting there with a dozen empty cans of beer - not in bathing suits - gawking at... more

I enjoyed my stay at the Econo Lodge in Van Horn, Texas. This hotel is located far enough away from I-10 so that you are not bothered by the traffic sounds. It is very close to a Pueblo grocery market, 2 gas stations, and Chuy's Mexican food restaurant…which I highly recommend for lunch or dinner. I would also recommend stopping... more

It's an older hotel but still a few years from a remodel. It's clean, well maintained and the staff is friendly. Other details... Entry: exterior doors with key card access Parking Lot: next to doors and well lit Internet: free wireless A/C: under window unit - worked well but blower was a little loud Breakfast: free - cereal, muffins, waffles more

The room was fairly clean but the beds were comfortable. There was someones leftover food in the freezer so looks like the maid needs to clean better. Again the contruction of motels/hotels is so important as there sounded like an army above us before 5 am. I finally called the front desk and it was better but I really think... more

1> This is a good motel. Van Horn is the only town within reasonable driving distance that has a good choice of motels, gas stations/prices. The next town in either direction is the pits. 2> The cost is a little higher than the competition, but worth it. 3> Comfort Inn's offer the best rates for over 60. (Which I am).... more

Room was clean and staff was friendly and efficient. The continental breakfast was meager. It is not on I-10 so you don't have to deal with noise from the highway all night like you do at motels on the access road. I would stay here again. Date of stay was May 29, 2004. more
