As all the reviews mention, David, Sarah (owners) and the rest of the Shady Glade residents is the reason this place holds such memories for us. Not to mention the most beautiful scenery and fun fishing I have ever experienced. We were there for two months and cannot wait to return for even a longer stay. When we arrived, David... More

We wanted to stay on Caddo Lake so we could enjoy lots of fishing. Shady Glade provided the perfect access. The place wasn't brand new, but it was very clean, fully stocked for cooking, and very roomy. We relaxed in the comfy recliners in the evening after long days of fishing. It was great!

The Smiths were friendly and helpful, and the room was comfy and clean. The perfect place I was looking for to spend three restful nights. The scenery was spectacular around the nearby lakes. Very good home style cooking in the cafe across the road.

We stayed here for Thanksgiving and the owners put on a potluck Thanksgiving Dinner which was a very nice touch. We stayed in Lakeview #2 and it has a "lake view". The cabins are very basic, no kitchen and two double beds. Double beds are very small for two people when you are used to a king, so we just... More

Nice place to fall off the grid. Our cabin was very cozy and had everything we needed. Just a few steps from the water. There was a canoe available that we could have used but we never got up the energy! A great place to relax and just enjoy the beauty of this great state.

Stayed in Cabin #1. They keep it very clean... Bathtub and toilet were spotless... Carpet nice, AC, ceiling fan (no dust), etc. Nice homey accommodations and the most convenient to the lake... Walk out the door to the pier... tada! Restaurant next door is convenient and good 'home' cooking. Borrowed a Shady Glade canoe and took a trip out on... More

I don't know who wrote the "Dumpy" review, but I enjoyed my stay at Shady Glades Resort. We had a cabin next to that great little café. It was very clean, had a refrigerator and microwave. We had a nice charcoal grill at the cabin, and the pavilion across the street has a great outdoor kitchen. The beds were very... More

Caddo Lake is an unique and beautiful setting that has no equal. We have stayed at Shady Glade Resort for the last fourteen years and have never had a disappointing visit. We have stayed in all of the accommodations from the Cozy Cabin to the Motel Rooms to the Trailers - all were extremely clean and well appointed. We have... More

Caddo Lake is a terrific and beautiful natural phenomenon. Shady Glade Resort is a well used dump. There are several other guest houses on Cypress Road that offer refreshed or new accommodations with much better surroundings. Would not recommend nor would I return.

We arrived without reservations at Beautiful Caddo lake in Uncertain Texas on a Monday night. After many, many calls to other establishments which went unreturned, we called the Shady Glade Resort. The owner answered the phone despite the fact that she and her family were out fishing and sent her charming son, Travis, to show us the lakeside cabin. The... More
